Really what?

What happened during the Chelsea game was pure freakish madness and the sort of bad luck I've never seen our team experience before in a match.

What was bad luck? Your players done those challenges. Ange kept playing the high line despite chelsea getting numerous chances 11 v 11 (two dissallowed goals and numerous chances missed), then kept playing it at 10 v 11 and then 9 v 11.

Was ridiculous in game management and I said it at the time. This run of form is not suprising for me. Really poor management imo. Fully expect you to lose v newcastle and then another loss after that and you'd be 1 point in 21.

Philosophys are great and not trying to lump on but the best managers are ones who can make changes during a game.

not trying to lump on btw spurtle and your squad is thing, but ange needs to adapt and quickly.

Adapt to what exactly?
We’ve played 15 games and we’ve outplayed almost every team, excluding Arsenal and city and actually we went toe to toe with both, away from home.
The bad results have been strange, gone ahead in all of them and yet lost, down to bad finishing mainly - I’m not sure how Ange can adapt to that

You go on about the Chelsea bad luck and completely forget huge slices of luck against Liverpool.

I couldn't agree more with the OP.

If we started the season with 4 losses out of the first 5 games then I think Ange should rightly be criticised.

The reality is that we played great football and achieved very good results up to the Chelsea game. During that game the wheels came off. Mainly due to bad luck (Maddison and VDV) and partly due to loss of heads (Romero and Udogie).

I think Ange deserves time and at least a couple more transfer windows before he's judged.

I remain confident that he will bring good times back to Tottenham

2 of our key players getting injured and being out for months. That's not bad luck? The suspensions you can say are self inflicted but they aren't really Ange's doing, so it's unlucky for him and us fans. It was just a bad set of events all round that has unquestionably derailed our season.

Whether Ange continued to have us play the way we did when we went down to 9 is besides the point. It's the fact we ended up going down to 9 to begin with together with the injuries. He had to deal with 4 top players from the first team gone in 1 game.

It was very unlucky to get two players sent off for fully deserved red cards...it happens a lot

It was also unlucky shipping four goals via a suicidal high line...who saw that coming

We've averaged about 8-10 injuries since the start of the season....averaged mind...we were up at 14 at one stage

Yes we got lucky in that game, though it's not determinable whether it would have cost us had that goal have stood. Doesn't compare to what happened in the Chelsea game though. At worst it's a loss of 3 points compared to all the points we've lost from having our team severely weakened by injury, which has realistically left us down by 9 points or more.

chelsea outplayed you past the first 10 minutes and we're crap. Also liverpool deserved something.

he needs to adapt to a situation where your best players are not available. Can't always play cavalier football.

Nobody cares about Chelsea's injuries though. You've been playing like shiiite whether injured or not.

With us it's been a complete turn in our fortunes.

The challenges were stupidity.

What the OP is talking about is that we picked up 2 serious injuries to our 2 best players this season. both out for months. Coupled with suspensions, and subsequent injuries to Sarr & Bentancur, its ripped some top class quality from the team.

It has not just weakened us, but it has put strain on the regular starters and i think you could see that last night. They've all had to put a shift in, without there being much support from the bench of our thin squad.

Had we spent £1bn on our squad, such we excuses would probably fall flat, but we're in a process of out with the old in with the new and clearly have some way to go.

We didnt lose last night or vs Villa because of cavalier football. We lost mainly because we missed chances. Should have been 2 or 3 up at HT vs WHU & Villa. Should have been 2 or 3 up before we lost the plot vs CFC.

that's how it goes innit, people are fickle. the 5 games without a win count for a lot more in people's minds than the 10 games without a defeat. the former is "unsurprising because if his poor management", so I guess that other (larger) sample size was just down to luck

no way should u have been 2 or 3 up v chelsea. Started very well dont get me wrong but chelsea were getting in repeatedly.

But yes, we are having the same thing, when your better players are injured you miss more chances.

We are hoping nkunku is atleast semi capable infront of goal and it will be a boost.

Chelsea have missed the most big chances in the league this year. It looks like a lot of teams are struggling nowadays with injuries.

But 1 point from potentially the next 18/21 points is surely cause for concern?

Bad, yes. Concerning, no.
