Criticism of Ange is ridiculous

Losing 4 games from 5 should be incredibly worrisome no matter who you are especially with the ambitions of a title race () that Spurs fans had only a few weeks ago.

you lost 6 in 7 at one point during the season after you won the league. that's football for you

Remember those who are criticising him now. This is a man who has just started his journey with us, and our fickle fans want him to win the lot!

Spurs have competed in every game and really, with better finishing should have seen off Villa, WHU and, with more discipline, CFC.

We were lucky vs City and vs Wolves we played badly and probably deserved the loss.

So nothing to be concerned about really, at this early stage of our development under Ange, and clearly the need to spend a bit of money to improve the squad.

I would be more concerned as a CFC or Utd fan as they seem to be unable to string any results or decent performances together.

that's how it goes innit, people are fickle. the 5 games without a win count for a lot more in people's minds than the 10 games without a defeat. the former is "unsurprising because if his poor management", so I guess that other (larger) sample size was just down to luck

No it isn't if you put it in context.

The context is this is his first season, only 5 months in the league, has won Managaer of the month multiple times, had the worst case of having his best players being made unavailable due to injuries or suspensions.
Ange has a better start than most of the managers in the top half.

Its perfectly alright tohave a few bad results in the season , it is how Ange and the team react to it and the backing from the chairman that is relevant.

Just for reference, and I dont really like the stat but chelsea had a higher expected goals from the 11th minute v spurs.

Man utd and chelsea know where we are, mind you utd seem to somehow keep getting results, miraculous really. But spurs' start was so positive its cocnerning the drop off.

we're just crap

“If it wasn't for this we'd still be top of the league and well exceeding expectations under a new manager who has had to also deal with losing the team's best player just before the season started, who is one of the best players in the world.”

I couldn't agree more with the OP.

If we started the season with 4 losses out of the first 5 games then I think Ange should rightly be criticised.

The reality is that we played great football and achieved very good results up to the Chelsea game. During that game the wheels came off. Mainly due to bad luck (Maddison and VDV) and partly due to loss of heads (Romero and Udogie).

I think Ange deserves time and at least a couple more transfer windows before he's judged.

I remain confident that he will bring good times back to Tottenham
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Let's just suppose Levy in the summer had not bought Maddison or VDV, and sold Kane, leaving the only signings being Vicario, Johnson, Solomon on a free and the two youngsters Veliz and Phillips. That's essentially the situation Ange is in now, and if he started the season in the same form we're in now, people would completely understand, while being constantly on Levy's back for the poor summer transfer window we had.

And that’s with all the injuries and our best players out
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We've averaged about 8-10 injuries since the start of the season....averaged mind...we were up at 14 at one stage
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It's currently 10
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Nobody cares about Chelsea's injuries though. You've been playing like shiiite whether injured or not.

With us it's been a complete turn in our fortunes.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
this makes no sense. We've had the most injuries of any team for the past 3 years...so you can't say whether injuries or not
----------------------------------------------------------------------
And nowhere near fielded our best 11 this term....still the case

I love this. Opposing fans posting on the Spurs board telling us that our manager's too cavalier and should be sacked because of this and that. Same with sections of the media.
They know that we're on the right track and it worries them.
The more they bang on the better as far as I'm concerned.

it's undeniably frustrating to go 5 games without a win. I'm absolutely desperate to beat Newcastle. But form can be bad and frustrating without it meaning you have to start questioning the manager.

Ok, so let’s see if I’m up to speed here;

So we have a great start to the season winning a string of games and drawing a couple, and Ange is rightfully praised to high heaven and indeed wins manager of the month 3 times on the bounce so far so good,

Now we have hit a diabolical run of four defeats and one draw in 5 games (relegation form imo) often losing from winning positions but no criticism is allowed at all? How peculiar.

This isn’t support, it’s being in a f*cking cult where no dissent is allowed, and I ain’t here for it.

No, we want him to beat teams like West Ham and Wolves especially at home.

Didn’t realise that was asking for too much.

My bad.

You're not really being measured. Your points are made with no reference to the injuries (VDV, Maddison, Bentancur, Peresic, Solomon, Sessegnon) and that the squad players are inadequate as we've seen and known for years. Don't you see that?

shut up sizzle you melt. you've been throwing your toys out the pram since the Chelsea game. I don't blame anyone for being frustrated now that the bad results are piling up but the second we stopped being undefeated you've not stopped moaning.

It would be concerning if the same 11 were picking up the results but we lost our best players for several games

What is concerning is how shat our squad is though

We are actually still playing well for large parts of matches but not finishing our chances which is then biting us

I’d be more worried if we were playing rubbish but we aren’t

2nd half last night aside as I thought we were awful

actually you are allowed to. that's how you've managed to do it. and then people are allowed to call you an idiot for saying it, like everyone has been doing for the last month of you moaning

you're sounding scarily similar to those right wingers you hate so much, you'll be screaming that you've been cancelled soon.
