Your narrative is a lot more selective than the one you're moaning about
Newcastle seem to be the new boy toy for the media it seems.
V chelsea all we heard was about their injuries yet we've had more all season and our bench is 10x worse.
Heard much the same in the newcastle v utd game
United spent £2.5bn for their loely exit...A lot more than \NEwcastele and yet I have seen more desire and hunger from the Toon than that bags of rigamatone Utd
United : read Manchester
Loely and rigamatone
My 2 favourite new words
United have a massive squad though
Newcastle did also have Dortmund and PSG in their group whilst you guys had Copenhagen and Galatasary. I agree with you on the Newcastle media darlings bit. They're still seen as plucky underdogs but they've invested heavily into the squad with some smart buys but also some big purchases.
Newcastle will be disappointed to not make the Europa League but it was a tough group and I'm sure Howe will try to make them a more rounded team to compete in Europe as well. For you guys not to even make the Europa League is really poor and I'm sure you know that.
Newcastle haven't won anything is close to 70 yrs, the media like to take shots at successful clubs. Utd and Chelsea are targets because of their success, comes with the territory.
As soon as they get a bit of success, I'd bet the media will start trying to cut Newcastle down.
Newcastle didn't really have any first teamers out injured. Milan only had one centre back in their squad due to injuries. Even then, this was his first game back from injury.
Not that I would expect English football pundits to have anywhere near the football knowledge that I, or any other average neutral fan would have.
You went out to some team in Denmark and Turkey while Newcastle were in the group of death
Also we went out with a whimper, never laid a glove on Bayern, deserved criticism for finishing bottom of that group
I guess you could also look at it like this.
Who would every group winner prioritise facing if they could. Copenhagen.
Who would every group winner like to avoid? PSG.

All the rival fans saying we had an easy group are completely deluded and ill-informed. Any group is tough in the CL when you are really shiiite.

They're missing Pope, Botman, Barnes and Tonali (obviously to a ban).
There is absolutely a fair point in criticising the media coverage of Newcastle. Part of it seems to be because of the English manager, lack of success and the geordie fanbase. All things that kind of work against Man utd from a media POV.
Oh dear !!! what a mess... I do enjoy United fans asking for sympathy..... Your decline is self-inflected & hilarious !
Newcastle do get an easy ride from the media considering they're now just a sportswashing vessel.

Completely agree with this. They've got Howe who can do no wrong and is a bit of a golden child as I'm sure the expectation would be for Newcastle to have gone big on a manager and gone for a Conte or Ancelotti type or something. They've also got a strong pool of English talent considering they could field an XI of Pope, Trippier, Lascellas, Burn, Livramento, Longstaff, Miley, Willock, Barnes, Gordon, Wilson.
Makes them likeable to the media but they're a bunch of caaaants in my eyes albeit as an Arsenal fan, I accept I've probably got a stronger bias of hatred towards them

So like 3 squad players, and it was their fault that they took a gamble on Tonali, so to speak.
This suggests that Newcastle have been extremely lucky with injuries compared to others.
I think we should all wait for Gary Neville’s ruling on their exit
Toon had a much tougher group than us
