And, out of interest, Heed, what other academy prospects would you keep for potential?

Haven’t seen enough of them to form an opinion

Come now, you've been convinced by seeing 20m of a LB you've never seen before played at LW.

Seen him once before and can say he’s worth a chance

I do agree that your club don't exactly excel at cementing their position when they are on top

Having said that, Ange is clearly an excellent manager, whoever followed him was never going to get any team playing the kind of exciting and aggressive football that he has teams playing....and let's face it, in all honesty, getting in a manager with Brendan's reputation is about as good as you were going to get....no?

Not having this pash about brendan ruining Kyogo either ,he's simply playing pash and missing great chances that he would normally score when in form .If you think about it kyogo has always missed sitters but used to get more chances when we had better players supplying him .He's 28 FFS he's not a rookie player who's gony lose the plot because the manager asks him to do something different ?

Maybe you are correct?

But then what is the excuse for the other 20* underperformers?

* it may be more, it may be less but it is serial underperformance across the squad suggesting it is fack all to do with individual players. Just saying.

Without a doubt there has been a drop off this season but then we've lost Jota,Starfelt and Mooy hugely influential players ,add to that the long term injury issues of Hatate,CCV,Abada and for a shorter period Maeda the team has been decimated .AJ has never recovered form since injury either and Taylor has struggled for form too,add to that Kyogos loss of form Is this all down to the manager ?? Not IMHO

Do you seriously believe that? Feck me. Rodgers' track record says he is exactly the reason. Kyogo's loss of form? He is still doing the exact same, only nobody is giving him the ball ffs. Rodgers is the feckin problem, as well as the people that appointed him.

Maybe it is easier to look at the guys that have improved - MOR (arguably), Iwata (arguably) - er, think that's it?

Of course there's his new signings we can't tell but seeing as none of them bar Palma get played I think we know the answer.

Never mind, I see McCarthy got a game for the B team today - maybe he will reignite our season?

posted on 17/12/23

OK so let's get this straight all our current woes are down to
A. The board ( who have been in control for the clubs most successful period in terms of both trophies and finance)
B. Brendan (who won every domestic prize open to him with us up until this season)

And not down to the sale of 2 key players, the retirement of another, added to the loss due to injury of several other key players and the loss of form of our top goalscorer ?

Is this correct and if so what's the solution?

Sack Brendan ? then what ?who do we replace him with ?
Sack the board ? Then what ? Replace them with who ??

Not sure who you are trying to convince here? Sure we lost players and were handsomely rewarded. To be straight, those monies were banked by
A. The board and some spent by B. Brendan whom they appointed as well.

So, uhm, yeah, I see that as the root cause. What the board choose to do about it as the shareholders' appointees is another matter. As we saw with sharkgate sometimes other stakeholders can dictate decisions. I'd have hoped they learnt a valuable lesson that acting too late can be severely damaging.

Now, care to explain why a 'top' manager and the highest paid person at the club seems unable to perform his job and improve more than arguably two of our players or is unable to play the others he signed to do it?

If it helps, we've been severely hampered by injuries this season too

Pleased for you, mate. Bears have had to put up with a lot over the years so have seen it all. Players getting it in the neck from fans being a big feature and none more than Tav who has done more than most for any success you've had in that time. Ironic to point at a weakness or drop in form and demand drastic action when he is someone hugely significant in digging out wins.

It is why I laugh off calls for Hart, Calmac, AJ, Kyogo, MOR, Hatate to be dropped. We probably aint doing much better than these guys with our finances? CCV next? I totally get that some of them maybe are not playing as well as we know they can but I am calling something else going on. It is just bizarre when there are plenty inarguable cases in the team that some of our best players are targeted.

Enjoy your night.

I’m not personalising it. Folk entitled to opinion and I like contrarians because they can make you think harder about things but it doesn’t make their opinion correct. Happy to debate it though. Only a few people can fix this though.

Just as aside where in fack would we be if Scales had been sold, loaned again or he didn’t flourish this season? What if MOR hadn’t signed a new deal or chipped in with goals and motm performances? If Palma had been as popular with the gaffer as his other 6 signings? Yes, it could have been even worse.

Solution is tough. BR might be the highest paid but he is still answerable. It is with the board. My fear is that they will let it get beyond saving which is also an ironic take when top of the league but Stevie wonder can see there’s a trend.

I also fear they will leave BR to dig his own grave. A good board will have their moles feeding up wtf is going on and that should dictate what action they take. It is stick or twist time after 30th. Let’s hope we are still in the race whatever they choose.

If they do punt him they will be piqued that they fckd it up so expensively and it will be Kennedy and Broon to recoup the £ in their minds.

Why no just get Lenny back with Broony as his assistant and bring back the thunder 👍🤣🤣

BTW, I forgot to add Bernardo to my list of summer recruits who’ve been a waste of space. Yes, totally forgot about him … that’s how much of an impact he’s had. Neat and tidy, but one-paced and no physicality … so basically totally unsuited to Scottish football.

I'd keep all of them and get the manager to fvck.

He's ruined kyogo, mcgregor, aj, and taylor.

On that basis i have no idea if any of our summer signings are good, all i know is we have manager who pushes boring, schite, football to an extent that its buggered some standout players last season.

agree wae that, Holm looked good in his first few games, what's happened to him? Looks like the style of play sucked any talent out of him
