I mean this was always going to be the tactic they employed and since we couldn't score we pushed our right back into midfield and took a midfielder off for another attacker, meaning playing with four attackers. We still couldn't score. This is down to the Liverpool players as they were able to get over 30 shots and still not score.

Of course they were going to park the bus. Wasn't even successful if we're honest as we still created so many chances and wasted them. The narrative shouldn't be the opponent bus parking, it should be wasted chances and poor play from a host of attackers.

How dare teams not just roll over and let Liverpool score goals
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You expect it from most teams in the league but United?

Pathetic.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I'd argue it's more pathetic that you're upset we didn't help you win the game

‘Utd will not fancy this, it’s come at the wrong time for them...they are conceding goals, losing matches, losing players to injury and internal problems going on. For us...cool as fk Top of league, best defensive record, one of best attacking records, perfect home record, players due back from injury soon....and rested pretty much the whole team this week.’

3 days later….

They defended and it’s not fair

No one predicted worse than United fans themselves. Go back and look at the articles.

Then they came and parked the bus and now celebrating a draw. The great Manchester United

Except that's not what happened, is it?

This isn't Fergie era anymore. United don't win things these days, and pyrrhic victories like a draw against Liverpool are all you have to celebrate.

Exactly!

Why VVD, Klopp and some of the Liverpool fans are crying about is beyond me!

Yup Liverpool had many chances to score and they didn’t take them it really is that simple!

But if the clueles and bitter ones want to go on about Utds tactics, “low block”, “parking the bus” then it must be a case of Utd tactically out played Liverpool in their own backyard! 😀

First of all, well done ManU, they played their game and didn’t allow us to play ours. Nunez had been suitably kranked up, and bit, getting a yellow card in the process. Dalot, one yellow Mr. Oliver, not two, that went beyond refereeing fairly and making a tart of yourself in the process.

Despite - or because of - the complete and utter tosh preceding the game, about how good we were going to be, how bad United we be etc., long before, not just during the game I was petrified that they would pull out the stops, or we would decide it would be a good day to play badly, simply to watch was horrible.

Whither us? Gawd knows. The Reds are predictably unpredictable. Nobody but nobody knows what they will do on the pitch. Top four is the target, anything more is a bonus.

United? ETH didn’t enjoy his successes by being bad. He’s obviously a strong disciplinarian. I suspect, through not fault of his, communication and presentation may be difficult, especially for those doing the listening. They at least deserved their point on Sunday.

Hope they get relegated.

Exactly. How the Mancs are now celebrating a draw and a big team like them parking probably the biggest bus we've seen at Anfield under Klopp is amazing to me.

United's gung-ho attacking performance at Anfield reminded me of Liverpool's barnstorming FA Cup Final win over Arsenal in 2001.

Indeed it is. It really should only be used when it's entirely legitimate, as in this particular case.

This makes it seem like Liverpool changed their game for that final. Sit in tight at the back and counter using the pace of the attack, particularly Owen to run onto through balls in heaps of space. It was a successful season too, with them picking up both domestic trophies and the UEFA Cup, finishing third in the league.

Not remotely similar to United's current situation.
