Warne understandably must be very angry with Ward for his two costly mistakes.

I've not seen the tackle but given the comments on here it does sound like Ward can be a tad reckless. I'm glad we've got a sound RB option in Nyambe and ideally we need to keep hold of him post Jan when his deal comes to an end.

I thought that was a very solid performance compared to some we have seen. We didn’t start well with a few poor passes but gradually assumed control and had pretty much all of the chances. Again, Nelson and Cashin were outstanding: aerially dominant but also so efficient at seeing off their men down the flanks.

Fornah was the curate’s egg, some pretty touches but lacking end product. Hourihane looks as though he is labouring to me but he is tidy and took his goal well. It would be great if Tommo could get up to speed quickly because we will need legs in midfield.

Collins did his customary work off the ball and took his chance well, couldn’t tell if it should have been offside. I thought Barkhuizen’s crossing was poor and Wilson offered a lot more when he came on. NML was decent.

A nice solid win, no drama. Happy with that.

Just seen the highlights.

Nice finish by Hourihane for the first, lashing the ball in to the back of the net.

I think Wilson deserves some plaudits for his craft to create an opening and the pass to Collins to score the third. He certainly is a player you can enjoy watching with what he attempts.

Not an easy chance but Sibley's effort at an open goal was Sibley at his frustrating best.

I think Warne deserves some credit as well.πŸ˜‰

Apparently we’ve only been behind in 11.5% of the minutes of games on average … the lowest in the league.

posted on 22/12/23

Would that be related to us conceding late goals?

posted on 22/12/23

Things certainly seem a lot better than a few weeks ago. It’s not always pretty but we have become a functional unit that is getting the right results so credit to Warne for that. He hasn’t panicked but I think there have been one or two tweaks which have helped. The games against the others in the top six will be key. If we can get the injured players fit and add a bit more quality we can push for top two for certain.

We started winning when Warne changed to a back 4. He obviously hates this system as he needlessly moves to a back 5, as he did last night when we were comfortable and winning.

Lincoln were a decent side but never really looked like scoring.

Merry Christmas everyone.

I reckon we will be in a mess if Cashin is sold.

Any deal will include a loan back

I would prefer to keep him till the end of the season and get a better deal with the tribunal because of his tim with the with the Academy.
It's because he's been coached right for the last 2 years that the big clubs or chasing him

Yes, can't see what extra coaching Cashin needs. What hasn't he been taught exactly?

Its like an old record that's stuck in a groove with some people, I can't understand the hatred for the manager, he's not a world beater but he's having a damn good crack at it, I don't know why the can't leave him alone, it's not as if he's failing miserably like the forest gump.
Get off his back.

Haha, true Ang but I just wanted to express my disappointment in Sibley. He's an exciting and talented player who has shown time and again an under par performance.

No doubt he'll go to a Champ club ( free ) and show his potential.

Speaking of showing their potential, it was said on RD could it be that certain players are upping their performances ( Cashin ) for the Jan shop window?

Brighton will look to get him on the cheap so I'm hopeful we can extend his contract and get the best possibly return. 50% of the transfer fee for the Norwich player Forest paid would be fantastic and help us. Whatever the deal we need to ensure he remains until close season as our defence is the one unit that doesn't worry me as much as the others.

Regards Warne and a lack of credit, I think that's a fair comment so well done. The fixtures he had he really had to win those games so the acid test begins just after Christmas.

I've been meaning to express how I see a Warme team and put off posting my thoughts so I'll do it now should anyone be interested in reading them.

Warne clearly wants an athletic team with players that 'bust a gut'. If you were to pick a PL side that Warne would want to replicate I'd say it's Liverpool and the gegenpress style. Add to that Warne's comments on liking German players ( who are athletic and runners.)

I'd be very happy if we tapped into the German market to find some players from the Bundlesliga 2 & 3. Surprises me we've not actually had that many German players in our squad in recent years.

I'm excited by the next window, not entirely sure why given Jan window tends to see us limp through it and pick up mediocre. I think in recent times one of the most daft and lacking due diligence signings was Paterson
( ex Forest ) who really didn't want to be there.

Something feels different about the window coming up, Warne has been clear on the targets required . Everyone in scouting has to up their game and deliver players in an age bracket of 23-27 , without a long injury record!

Right that just leaves me to wish everyone on here a very πŸŽ„Merry ChristmasπŸŽ„. Enjoy your celebrations with loved ones and speak to you all on πŸ₯Š Day!

Paterson was desperate to come to Derby then, to be here his family, but the idiot Coku never gave him a chance I see he's still scoring goals, two lost night against Preston North End.
