I think even G.Nev said that had Jones not been so fragile, he wouldn't have as many caps as he did for England, so was lucky Jones was injured.

It is a shame, but he is on 250k p/week and we need his place occupied with a fit and able player.

Weve got far to many injury vulnerabilities , to be carrying players who are regularly injured is part of the issue that is effecting the side.

Broja , unfortunately is another, and in all honestly Chilwell is boarder line unfortunately.

If this doesn't work there needs to be some give & take from him. I'd be happy to keep him long term in a Ledley King type capacity, playing a select number of predesignated games per season/getting him his badges if he's interested, but he'd need to re-negotiate that 250k/w deal immediately!

Fabric of any club is an illusion, a convenient contrivance, a player taking the p!ss is reality. That would be a million quid a month for next to nothing back.

Im struggling to remember any top level players that have been repeatedly injured then go for the surgery that will "fix it for good" that actually go onto to have an relatively injury free career or if they do are able to get back to the level that made them a top player.

Option B tends to be a problem for attacking players who rely on pace. He might have the shift to CB or midfield but these are distant bridges atm.

it can also affect other players, they may need to change their training or how often they can train that will ultimately make them less of a player.

I think when it comes top pace that the one that is most obvious as it one you can clearly see the result of it on matchday.

At 1 million a month, the club require more than a part time plan B option.

At some point someone will have to make a decision.

I think he is on a five year contract , that is 60m over the contract time.

I was using an example in the same position. So sorry my example comes from my club. Didn't realise Utd fans were so fragile.

I could have used Lee Sharpe if that would make you happy? Wrong position, but same issue regarding injuries. Didn't Fergie sell him because of it?

He needs to lose some fecking weight. I've been saying for years he's too bulky, you can't play top level prem footy with that physique.

I think he is just going to be one of those perma injured players unfortunately - great player and seems a good bloke, just doesn’t have a body that can play consistently

I can't think of too many players that have got back to the world class level many have hyped up Reece james as being capable of reaching. when they'd had as many long term injuries as him.

Ramsey as an example was never quite the same player post injury for us. Gomes at Liverpool is nowhere near the level he was at in Liverpool's title winning season.

There definitely are. Aurier, Acuna, Mendy, Shaw, Timber, Alex Sandro, Walker, Dumfries. Back in the day, Valencia, Moses, Kolasinac. In any case all over the pitch I could name footballers similar build to Reece who aren’t as injury prone - I’m additionally intrigued why you think full backs would be a special case.
