Saliba didnt understand the question properly. He was refering to the Havertz incident.

Some said Ode was falling down and it was a natural movement when you are falling. Knowing the officiating these days we couldnt have complaint about a pen. It was when we were 1-0 up.

Injuries arent an excuse for Liverpool. We have also injuries to first teamers.

We stayed top of the table with the right result of this game. A lot to play for. There is absolute no curse to be there. I think Liverpool would be delighted if they would have won this. Time were Liverpool turned us over at Anfield are well over thankfully.

If we are going to make it? We have a chance but as we all could see still a lot to improve and being braver at times.

Didn’t think it was a blatant penalty, but I’ve seen them given. Havertz unlucky there tbh.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Come on it was blatant, just admit you got away with one.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Absolutely no complaints if it’s given, of course. However, I’d have been disappointed if we’d not taken something from yesterday, given our overall performance.

Anyway, great game between two good teams. And I’m happy about that. Hopefully the pre-curser to a right dig-dong battle for the title between us. And may the best team (from London) win!

In the meantime, Merry Christmas to you all!

Have a good one, chaps.

It was very lucky but by LeTtEr Of ThE lAw you can see why it wasn’t given. Just another stupid handball rule that makes no sense. I will take the luck after what happened vs Villa and Newcastle though.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What is the letter of the law that allows a player to play basketball on a football pitch?
Genuinely curious.

If you're falling and the ball hits your hand, no handball.

It's a silly rule really, but it benefitted us yesterday.

He blatantly handled, so if it were given, there'd have been no complaints. At the same time, we would have been unlucky to concede such a penalty because a player slipped and was trying to break his fall. It's not like he blocked a shot with it, or tripped a player through on goal.

I get you point but it wouldn't be unlucky, it would be because of the rules, which Mets be honest are ridiculous. That shouldn't be a pen but under current laws and going by what we see on the pitch, it's a blatant pen and it boggles the mind how it wasn't given.

When you slip, do you cross your arms or something?

The "rules" are exactly why it wasn't given, as the PGMOL explained after the match saying "'Odegaard's arm is moving towards the body and not the ball as he goes down." The rules are why they didn't rule the incident as deliberate, even though it "looked" like a penalty.

Showing they got conned. He slipped but didn't fall over realised the ball was going to Mo so handled it away from him.

It's clear as day the slip wasn't bad enough for him to do that motion, he did it to stop Mo being in on goal. Should have been a red card too

Sure. So "clear as day" that not just the VAR review, but the post-match PGMOL review saw if differently. It was certainly a very clumsy incident (and I'd have accepted the penalty decision), but to claim Odegaard "handled it away from" Salah just seems like your Liverpool lens talking. It was clearly inadvertent.

Had it beem given, it'd basically just have been a fluke penalty from nothing.

Of course the PGMOL saw it differently.

The argument that it was not a penalty is almost from an alternate dimension. It's that ridiculous.
