Wow, didn’t expect him to win the Masters but nice to start off 2024 with that. It had been 7 years since he last won the Masters.

Carter had a good tournament beating Williams, Judd and Allen, but not enough to beat Ronnie. It was a bit like Ding’s run in the UK.

ATM, only Judd can challenge Ronnie on current form, still got The Grand Prix, Players, Tour championships & the Welsh before Sheffield, doubt Ronnie will play in all those.. He'll never admit it, but his focus will be Sheffield...

Yes and after 1995, he lost the finals in 1996, 1997 and 2004.

Hendry, Davis & Hunter beat him, Ronnie should have at least 10 Masters titles, he should have beaten Steve in 97, & Hunter 04..

Oh yes, he was 8-4 in the streaker match against Davis and then fell apart. Davis was amazing to be fair

Hunter again played amazing in 2004, but Ronnie let him back in at 7-2 up.

Doesn’t matter though as it all worked out in the end.

If Ronnie is playing anywhere near his best, then there are probably only a handful of players who could beat him, and they would need to be at their best.

Ronnie wasn't really focused until the end and then just went up a gear.

Carter, even if he played his best, still seems to give up chances - against Allen, even though he made a few centuries, he gave Allen plenty of chances.

Ronnie was more convincing at the UK than here, but he still found a way to win.

Still clearly ahead of the rest.

Yes it's odd that a 48 year old still manages to beat most players comfortably even when he isn't at his best.

I'm not a Ronnie fan, but he is so far ahead it's ridiculous. The likes of Hendry, Davis, John Higgins, Williams, Selby, maybe Trump, at their peak are amazing players, but Ronnie not only matches them but exceeds them by a good margin.

When Ronnie really focuses, which can be rare, and is prepared to truly battle, he can play match hard tactical snooker with the best of them, and of course he is the best break-builder out there. His recovery shots, which he makes look so easy during breaks, are a real attribute.

Others in small spells can maybe match, but over the years, he plays at an average standard which can match most people's A games.

Of course it is in the mind where any weaknesses can be found - that is just the make-up of Ronnie. I guess if he had the mind of a Hendry / Davis etc, he really would be unbeatable.

Whatever number of majors he ends up on him, it will be both a crazy number, but even more crazy is that we will think, he should have had so many more
