As I wrote elsewhere.
Not perfect still but much better.
A direct wide threat helped.
Eriksen, although not great defensively, wants the ball and wants to look forward.
Tempo.
Fernandes much more involved in forward areas. Where he should be. Yes, he still loses the ball but does make things happen.
If we can get everyone back for the run in then we may well still be OK this season. It's not a lost cause yet. That effort and tempo has to be the minimum moving forward now though.
Villa played a dumb high line and made it easy for Bruno.
People need to chill.
Garnacho looked our best player by miles.
He'd rip teams to shreds at a properly functional football club
Garnacho has struggled on the right on the odd occasion he has played there, but I would like to see him play there more often so he can get familiar playing that side.
Not to be that person but the Villa highline is very unique. Lets see it in a more normal team like Forrest. But Garnacho looking brilliant on the right like he did on the left is brilliant.

Sorry Greg bit I am going to be happy with the win.
Garnacho looked great and reckon he’s one of the positives of the season. Hopefully he pushes on against Forest. Was he cramped or was it an injury?

I'm carried away. Same again next time out please
We looked like United of old, and eight academy players, wow.

Cramps. Should have passed to Antony there but I can understand not wanting to pass to antony.
Villa's high line had nothing to do with our improved work rate and intensity, our ability to connect with passes or trap a ball first time and nothing to do with the fact our players actually looked like they were on a similar wavelength for once. We've played high lines before but couldn't build attacks and create chances to save our lives.
I don't know why but something changed midway through the first half. Early stages our passing was off in terms of accuracy and weight and we weren't able to control the ball first time but that changed and we looked pretty good at times as a result.
We now need to see that type of performance on a much more consistent basis.
Well...well....well.....
I was told by several posters than Garnacho couldn't play on the right as he's never played there. 😂
Antony doesn't start and we actually had our best attacking performance of the season. It's almost like I know what I'm talking about and ETH should have played that front 3 months ago.
Too early to say the penny has dropped with him though. He will no doubt try and get Antony back in the team at the first opportunity that presents itself.
Shout out to Evans too who has brilliant yet again and legitimately has been one of if not the best signing we've made under ETH.
Hopefully we launch Antony into the sun. Just to be sure.

What a young player he is!!
Exciting and very direct!!
Utd have two very good young attackers in Garnacho and Hojlund!
I do think ETH stifles them a bit with a more defensive setup. I feel tonight it’s the senior players who took the lead and along with Rashford decided to be more attacking specially worked because of how Villa tried to be on front foot and play a high line.
Garnacho worked his socks off!!

If I hear or read another fan saying we play better with Antony in the team I will genuinely slap them.
Garnacho done more in one game than he's done in 14 months in the league. 😂
Good performance tonight, think Villa could’ve won had they not played such a high line.

Thought Villa were fortunate to get two. We gave them two incredibly soft goals. Watkins barely touched the ball.
Our keeper and set piece defending remains woeful. Thankfully our attack turned up tonight.
come on lads. Not many teams play a high line like villa did. Don't fool yourselves.

To be fair they've been pretty good with it until tonight? I agree it's a risk but when used correctly it can be effective?

I don’t think the high line was that important, though. We played with a high tempo, intensity and quality that has often been missing. Our players were passing to each other and also beating their man.
We’ll be shiiiiit next game, as is tradition, but it was a pleasing performance.
It wasn't just the high line. We had more balance on the right with a right footed who can actually go past players too. We also played with more urgency than normal.
3-2 flattered Villa a bit. Thought we were at least 2 goals better over the 90 mins which is rare for us.
