My favourite Glenmorangie has become a wee bit expensive, so I’ve been enjoying Monkey Shoulder at about half the price. Picked up a bottle of 12 year old Aberlour just before Christmas, again good price and decent quality, only a dram left in it now. Other than that craft IPA, enjoy a few of those at most…can’t take the volume any more.

Ok, story coming up … so, when I was about 14 and attending my older sister’s wedding, the tradition was to put several bottles of booze at the centre of each table at the reception, and a couple of them were whisky …
Encouraged by my older brothers to ‘give it a go’ … and my next memory was bouncing off the toilet walls like a drunken cowboy falling through the saloon bar half-doors … and being 🤮 for the next 3 days (my Mum never forgave my brothers 🤣). So from that day to now, I can’t stand whisky (even passing up the chance to recreate the craik from ‘Local Hero&rsquo😁

It’s quite incredible how that ‘wretch’ survives all these decades👍🤣

It’s really annoying. All sorts of drinks now I can’t touch. It’s some deep seated psychological reaction, I’d tell you it was hell of a night but I remember almost none of it

Yep👍. It took me a while but eventually I found my way to Cognac (but can’t touch whisky to this day😁)

This is excellent for the price.

Will have a glass of Amarone when the footie comes on, as for Admin and his whiskeys my work takes me to the Far East a lot so Japanese and Taiwanese whiskeys are the ones I tend toward although can be tough on the pocket, like Sherry cask finish Whiskey.

Agreed. It's not a liquid a man should imbibe like milk tea. Tea is for polished and accomplished gentlepersons.
