We said any win would do; I'll take that.

That's it guys another win and another 3 points.

Another clean sheet and maximum points over the festive season.

Deby made a mess of it, ended up losing late in added time.

Time for me to go

Thought at one stage our missed chances would've bitten us in the backside but they really didn't look threatening.

Absolute masterclass in pressing from us today though. Pity about the finishing.

Yes 20 chances and not one scored by us. Still three points is what we needed.

That's me done guys, enjoy your evening. I suppose some of you will be working tomorrow.

Hard fought 3 points. Didn't expect much today 4th game in 10 days. Just could do with a decent striker coming in plus that defensive midfielder. Have to keep an eye out defensively as look short with Jones away if we get another injury.

Who is up for the cups.
Would anybody try playing Toal in that hole in front of the back 3? He's comfortable with the ball at his feet and going forward, worth a go in training see how he picks it up and go for it at Luton.

Luton looked really good down the flanks against Chelsea in the second half of their last game.

All will depend on what sort of team they put out. I'm expecting something close to full strength as the Premier League have a rolling week off after the FA Cup.

Think we have to hit them hard and early to stand any chance there now. They haven't really had a really proper down period and their results have been promising recently.

it's going to be a hard game and I recon anything can happen. We could get swamped or if the team plays with freedom and are strikers take their scoring boots with them, you never know, we could grind out a result. Get them back at the Tough sheet and give it a real go.

However, I do not want that, we have enough games to contend with. If we play well, win or lose will be OK with me. I don't expect we will win the FA Cup but a decent pay out would be welcome.

When is the window cleaner due?
I can't see anything, not even a sighting of somebody I've never heard of shopping at Middlebrook.

Wild speculation Dion has sold his house. Deal done with Preston. Also he's going to Swansea. I really hate early days of the transfer window.

I knew I should have saved those cracker jokes. They'd be funnier than some of the transfer gossip.

Calm down, it isn't going to happen............although, there is speculation that we could sign Luton Town's young striker Joe Taylor on loan. He's scored 12 goals already this season on loan at Colchester United, he scored 12 goals in a struggling team near the foot of the table.

We'll need to find more loan clubs for as many young un's as we can.
We have so few games for the B team, they'll not get match fit and play many games hanging around Lostock.

If we get promoted, do we get a proper full central league gig going again?

Declan John signs on loan with Salford until the end of the season so that's him effectively left the club as his contract expires at the end of the season. Nelson Khumbeni has been recalled from flyde. Fa Cup tied but available for the EFL Trophy and the league.

Does bringing Khumbeni back mean he'll get a shot at a few minutes. I'll wager it's a cunning plan, to help IE keep a sub keeper off the bench.

posted on 6/1/24

Khumbeni might be involved against Accrington. Thomason is suspended for that so options limited in midfield. Not 100 % sure on loan moves as he has played for 2 clubs can't move again.

Thanks Benny
It sounds like its make or break between now and the end of the season for him.
The lack of a full B team fixture list won't help anybody, they need to be playing.

9 subs tomorrow so a couple of youngsters will be added to the bench.

I think it may be more like loaning him out to another club slightly higher up.
