It's asking a lot of a young player to go again week in week out. The lad looks like he needs a break.
Found out for me. He is always going to cut in on his left foot and shoot and he isn't as good at it as Robben was.
I think he should play on the left more often as he is way too predictable now
They said in commentary that he has played over 200 times for Arsenal. That's remarkable for a player aged 22.
When on his game, even though you know what he is going to do, he is hard to stop...like Salah, like Roben. He does need to add a bit more guile to his play, mix it up a bit. But he is no doubt fatigued and Arteta's failure was to spend money on Havertz and Raya (and sooo much on Rice) when being able to rest and rotate Saka with a legit option was probably a bigger priority.
He was always going to be found out. Even Salah after his first season but what Salah had was a inform machine like Mane causing damage so teams have to plan for both wide areas. Problem for you is that there is no threat on the left currently. Martinelli needs to up his game.
Yeah like he became too predictable. Also like he lost confidence in his dribbling skills. I feel like before he was going much more often on the right foot and wasn't so predictable. Now he either plays it back with a player on his back or he tries to cut in, which isn't efficient at all.
Very good player, probably just tired, also a chance his diving tricks are now somewhat found out with var, making him way less effective, probably just tired.,
It's not just saka imo. Most of thr wide plaeyrs in the league are struggling with fatigue. Leon Bailey's the only one the really stands out as having a major impact at the moment - possibly salah too but only stats wise.
It always makes me laugh when people talk about players being tired, burnt-out etc.
How many hours a week does a PL player actually play or do physical training?
For me he should move into MF.
Saka's not had quite as good a season as last, but he must be right up there in the top 5ish attackers, stats wise?
3 goals + 4 assists in 5 CL games
And 6 + 6 in the PL
Not too bad at all
I think the problem is that (along with the fact he does look tired) is that teams double up on him now, particuarly since the Newcastle game. White has been found out a bit as an attacking full back and has looked ineffectual. He should be making gut busting runs beyond Saka now teams are getting tighter, but instead he's being more conservative!
I think it's more that Arteta's tactics have been found out. Players go in and out of form but the whole attack at the same time?
Overplayed, needs a decent rest. Top quality player in my opinion and probably the only Arsenal player I actually like
Saka performance as a whole this season has been awful.
Yeah his stats are not that bad but he has been completly nullified in games, especially away from home
Total neutral, who thinks Saka’s a cracking wee player. Suspect he’s just played too much football. Don’t think he’s one-dimensional at all … Martinelli is though.

This has a large part tbh. Saka is tremendous, Arsenal just have been found out as a whole and Arteta doesn’t know what to do
Think it's a mixture of factors
1. It's actually being overstated, he's still playing well by most standards, just not up to what he did last year.
2. Fatigue, Arteta never rests him
3. The performance of the team in general means we're more predictable and teams can double up on our wingers without space being exposed elsewhere.
4. Players figuring out how to defend against him a little better.
I wouldn't say he's been found out he's been in the first team for the best part of four years if he wasn't all that he wouldn't of got this far he wouldn't of been England's player of the year two years running. He's been overplayed and with no overlapping support often he's faced with two or three opponents in front of him, not even Messi wouldn't be able to deal with that, it's a similar story on the left. Our wide players was one of our biggest strengths last year, seems crazy to move away from that.
He’s a superb player that’s being over played by club and country. At Arsenal he’s fairly easily doubled up on as rarely does anyone go outside of him but he still puts in good numbers.
He’s absolutely being over played though. History is littered with numerous players who clocked up well over 100 games by 21 and then break down in their late 20’s.
20G/A in about 26/27 games I think. That's a very good return, given our struggles in attack.
He's 100% been overplayed by Arteta. Even when he was injured or a doubt for games arteta would have him in the squad and start him most of the time. When games were won he then leaves him on until the 80th min for some daft reason.
He had a spell a few months ago when he was going off injured every other game and arteta would still start him and keep him on almost the whole game.
He's been overplayed and overrelied on by the manager. Still a brilliant player but the above along with often having 2 or 3 opposition players straight on him has seen him be less effective than before.
Arsenal have just been found out
Saka looks wasted and he's been found out. He's been poor lately but he is a good player though. Hyped beyond belief as usual because he's English.
Nowhere near Robben's level though. Robben was sheer class.
