Di Matteo followed by Tuchel
Tuchel. Instant impact and results. Had a great management style too,
Mourinho. The most entertaining period while realising some great achievments (back to back PL)
Di Matteo was just winging it largely

I'd like to see Vialli included in this. Winning 2 FA Cups, European Cup Winners Cup, League Cup and Super Cup beating Real Madrid in an era when we didn't have the backing of Abramovich's billions is a considerable achievement.

Mind you he won the FA Cup once I think not twice. I will add him in.
In terms of pure achievement I'd go with Di Matteo. He took a team that was 3-0 down to Napoli after the first leg and looking like absolute no hopers and turned it round to a team that got past Napoli in the second leg then got past the greatest club side in history (prime Messi's Barca), then beat an outstanding Bayern side in their own stadium in the Final. Probably one of the biggest comeback stories in sporting history.

Yeah just checked, Gullit was manager for the 97 FA Cup win, Vialli was still a player. So it's one FA Cup for Vialli. But yeah he definitely needs to be on that list I think.
Emotionally speaking it's Robbie.
Brain says Mourinho b2b titles.
Great article, a breath of fresh air
All of them are when in context are exemplary.
Which is the best achievement by a Chelsea manager?
Sexton , i started supporting Chelsea because of the FA Cup performances/ wins over Leeds utd, who were an incredible side. That Chelsea side were exciting full of quality , plus they had the glamour factor.
Vialli's side achievements were the icing on the cake and the first real spark that things were really changing for CFc. A much under valued period between in general with Hoddle, Gullit & Vialli. Look up the squad list, fckn amazing!
Jose, well, what can be said, in that period with that squad , he was the special one, big up to Roman
Carlo, sublime quality, pure class, Ray his sideman
Again the squad, fckn awsome!
Conte, well gritty, no nonsense, in that period he was on top of his game, he had possibly the last decent that Roman provided
T/T, personally i rate him very highly, he performed a miracle with the squad, and then had to oversee a torid period, Covid, Roman loosing the club.
Alot of big mouths knock him, but im flabbergasted that they do not consider the outlying circumstances he had to deal with, the knock on effect to players and club in general
Just for the record, his sacking was imo one of the most stupid acts of self harm carried out by a football club owner in living memory.
Individually they each are amazing achievements, but hay what about dematteo ?
COY Blues, KTBFFH
Forgot Vialli...Hands down he was epic. Great player, too
When you look at that list, i think it can be said that we as Chelsea supporters over this period have been truly blessed and fortunate to witness how our club has battled and competed.

Well, Roman was behind most of your successes. I think he was one of the first fans who became owner of a club, and that helped imo
Yes Roman played his part, but more importantly he built on the foundations that Ken Bates & Matthew Harding established.
The whole legacy built over 50 years.
Trophy success is to be not taken for granted, but the clubs journey over that period is the real story imo.

Yes, no complaints, we have been spoilt.
Di Matteo doesn't count...got shoe horned in & got lucky...then got sacked very quickly & was never in a decent job after that...I could've done that

This
And not only that, the identity he imprinted on the club lasted for over a decade, and was very important for us winning so much we did. To have 10% of that mentality now would be nice
Sarri for making you play almost as good as Napoli for a cuppla month at beginning of his reign

I think your point about identity is spot on, I think it became harder to maintain as the last of those players left the club though.
Can’t look past tuchel tbh. I really didn’t rate our team at all. To win the trophies and get to the finals he did with those teams was exceptional. Was also flying high in the league before key injuries in his final season
Jose's achievement was undoubtedly very good but he inherited an already good and very expensive team that had been largely put together by Ranieri. The likes of JT and Lamps had been taught and developed under Ranieri and they ended up being Jose's two most important players, especially in his first season.
Jose had also been backed with as much money as he needed to spend under a very ambitious new owner who was only too happy to get his chequebook out to sign any attainable player in world football, well before the constraints of FFP. Jose walked into a near perfect scenario at Chelsea so I can't rank his achievement as the highest.
Jose's reign is also overshadowed by the fact that he had everything at his disposal that any manager could dream of yet he wasn't able to maintain the success of his Chelsea team beyond three years.
Yeah you could look at it like that, but!
Come on, Jose brought in Cavhalio & Ferrara sorted the defence right out.
Dogba found his feet.
But when you look at the squads between 03/4 > 04/5 > 05>6 there was a mass overhaul on the scale of the one currently being carried out by our new ownership.
The squad had about 12 players who were as good as you could get in their positions, but the rest were distinctly average journey men pros.
Over Jose's time there was a lot going on but he gelled them into a cohesive fighting force, a spine which was still driving the club a decade later.
His time was not solely about the back to back winning seasons , it was about the culture of club legacy he installed.Which other managers continued to benefit from.
Today, personally i have no real affection for Mourinho , due to his abysmal behaviour during his second stint.
