Watching that game, even though I am half cut, and had to speak to the wife a bit, so my full attention was not on the match was that Spurs dominate possession, and man utd at home had far less possession and basically played as an inferior counter attacking team.
Against a Spurs that were missing Son Sarr Bissouma Kulusevski and Maddison. 5 starters
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You’re overplaying the injuries imo.
Son and Maddison the only notable absentees.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
we had skipp and Hojbjerg in midfield. Literally 5th and 6th choice. And bossed United at Old Toilet
Kulusevski started every game. Missing today, like Son.

I think your underplaying it or just don’t know who starts for us
Kulusevski would have played as well as sarr and bissouma
That’s 5 first team starters missing with son and Maddison
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So you’d play Bentacur with Sarr and Bissouma?
I think not.

So 4 first team players out

I think you can argue Spurs were missing 4 key players but we were also missing 3 key players. Having your best back 5 makes a huge difference.
We’re a team lacking momentum and run awfully but we need to be realistic too. I think a fit Shaw, Martinez and Casemiro will make a huge difference to our performances moving forward.
Do I think EtH is the answer, I’m not sure? Do I think injuries have massively effected his ability to develop this squad, yes very much so.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The most worried thing about ETH is his signings, only Martinez you can say is good, but we also paid a big fee for him.
Watching De Jong playing for Barca, I’m not convinced that he would have been a good signing for us either, we probably dodged the bullet there.
Red evils
You’re right but the problem is that the manager shouldn’t be put in charge of signings. And that is where the issues run deeper than the manager.
The difference is even with loads of injuries and call ups Spurs look an organised and entertaining side who clearly up and down the squad know what’s asked of them from their manager.
We don’t. And thats what’s gonna cost Ten Hag his job eventually.
How many more managers are we going to go through, before people think that it might be a bigger issue than who sets the team up?
Technically more of Spurs starting XI today were bought buy their current manager (5) than for United (4). Ange is doing a very good job at Spurs but he also has a competent DoF helping him identity players where as we don’t. It’s not really fair to compare.

We all know this.
Meanwhile... now that INEOS are now running the Football Club and change will happen, somebody has to take control and try and stop the rot by organising the current players we have into an effective and competitive system and stop the performances and results dragging the good name of Man United further dowm the toilet. Do you think Erik is still the man?
