Heart says 4th, head says 5th, which I think is a pretty reasonable expectation.

5th place gets top 4 this season though doesn't it?

would be a shame, as probably means Arsenal will qualify for CL again next season in that case

If City win the CL and Liverpool win the EL then I think that means 6th and 7th also get top 4, so Spurs should get into the top 4 that way.

if Aston Villa win the conference league i then even 8th could be good enough

Yeah top 5 I think will get CL. I was hearing how it seemed unlikely how we would lose 5th place as a qualification and with the performances of the Europa teams I think it's unlikely to be honest.

I think we'll finish top 4 but if we don't win the FA Cup, it's going to be disappointing, unless we win the league itself.

From the outside, I think if Maddison comes back well from injury and stays fit then I don't see 4 better teams than Spurs. I think Villa fall away a bit and Spurs finish top 4.

We’re currently 3rd in the UEFA ranking thing, but the margin between us and Germany in second is paper thin. Liverpool making the Europa final, Villa the semis and City the semis would almost guarantee us a top 2 position which makes 5th a CL spot.

I think we will finish either 4th or 5th - Villa will finish in the other spot. Arsenal 3rd by 3/4 points, Liverpool 2nd and City winning it.

Don’t care after that.

FA cup - if we beat City and avoid Liverpool we will have a great chance. Probably also need to avoid an away game at Chelsea, Newcastle or United. I don’t think we will beat City tho

I think 4th is pretty nailed on. I’m really not one to get ahead of myself, but I’ve watched a few Villa matches recently and they have been quite fortunate. I can remember two matches where the opposition went down to 10 men, we should have battered them and apart from their early goal against Arsenal, they were second best throughout.

No team below look to be threatening the top 5 and Arsenal may even drop off.

We also have our new signings and plenty of players to come back into the first team.

3rd or 4th for me

If the Man City charges stick then they may be deducted a lot of points meaning they miss out on the 10th top 4 place. But they would still retain their CL title and the extra CL place that comes with it as they are only PL charges. It means 11th place would be good enough for top 4.

As it stands England would only get 4 CL places next season.

Both Germany and Italy are ahead of them.

The contenders

1. Italy, 14.00
2. Germany, 13.64
3. England, 13.63
4. Spain, 12.69

Yes this is the wafer thin margin between us an Germany. Hopefully City match Bayern, and Liverpool and Villa outdo German sides in their comps - should be enough. Might also catch the Italians.

We’re lucky to be where we are considering Man United and Newcastle bombed in the CL group stage

Worth noting no coefficient league points are awarded in the Europa League/Conference knockout play-off round. England have the most teams that can definitely win co-efficient points but all nations potentially have 6 (except Italy with 7) clubs that can pick up points if they win their play-offs.

Teams left in Europe
1.
CL - Napoli, Inter, Lazio
EL - Atalanta
EL Play-offs - AC Milan, AS Roma
EC - Fiorentina

5+2

2.
CL - RB Leipzig, Dortmund, Bayern
EL - Bayer Leverkusen
EL - Play Offs - SC Freiburg
EC - Play Offs - Eintracht Frankfurt

4+2

3.
CL - Arsenal, City
EL - West Ham, Brighton, Liverpool
EC - Aston Villa

6

4.
CL - Barcelona, Real Madrid, Real Sociedad, Atletico
EL - Villarreal
EC Play-Offs - Real Betis

5+1

City, Liverpool and Villa are favourites for their respective competitions - if all 3 make the semis we will be very close, if a couple make the final then we’re more or less guaranteed.

It will be interesting to see your viewpoints if Spurs finish 5th and qualify for the CL due to City winning the CL. You'd be benefiting from City's cheating. Would you be ok with that?
