Yeah top 5 I think will get CL. I was hearing how it seemed unlikely how we would lose 5th place as a qualification and with the performances of the Europa teams I think it's unlikely to be honest.

I think we'll finish top 4 but if we don't win the FA Cup, it's going to be disappointing, unless we win the league itself.

Not sure it’s reasonable to say it’s going to be disappointing if we don’t win the FA Cup given we’ve not won it or even made the final for 33 years, and that we have just drawn the best team in the world in the 4th round. I’d love to win it, but like any cup you need both the luck of the draw and the rub of the green - between our current absentees and drawing City we’ve had neither so far. If we can somehow get past City then maybe that’ll change.

Worth noting no coefficient league points are awarded in the Europa League/Conference knockout play-off round. England have the most teams that can definitely win co-efficient points but all nations potentially have 6 (except Italy with 7) clubs that can pick up points if they win their play-offs.

I don't think it's quite that simple but you're still probably right.

If 3 teams do really well and 3 get knocked out in the next round for example then you're going to be struggling.

England have the benefit of none of their teams facing teams from a rival nation, the others will all knock each others teams out in the next round.

In the CL you have Italy v Spain twice, Italy v Germany, Spain v Germany.

One of them bound to have a team out in the Europa knockout phase as well with 2 playing French sides and Roma with Feyenoord. All toughish ties.
