Well it’s helped us double our wage bill and keep players like Salah by giving him £300k a week. Like having a top 3 elite manager by paying him a top 3 elite wage. It’s also allowed us to increase the capacity of the stadium by thousands and redevelop our training facilities and that’s before being able to build a world class squad.

This means we can bring on players like Jota and Nunez and Arsenal have to bring on Reiss Nelson and Eddie Nketia which is why we consistently challenge for the biggest prizes and Arsenal haven’t in well over a decade.

Seriously though, camera man skills aside, Saliba is an exceptional player. Def has the making of one of the best in his position.

This season VVD is smashing him in most defensive key areas according to Opta though. Problem I think is people are always a bit biased when you are chosing between players, and assuming what one could do based on ability, and what ones actually done.

VVD had had a noticeable dip in form for the first time when he had a very bad injury. This season he's looked immense. Most rival fans don't watch Liverpool so just prefer to ignore that and assume he is still on a downward spiral at the end of his career. He's in insane form.

Saliba hasn't made the same impact to Arsenal VVD has but he does have Arteta as a manager 😂
Saliba is also a different type of defender that suits a different style but the kids still top class. Hard part will be Arsenal keeping in him in his prime years like Liverpool have with VVD.

Ambition is trying to get Pep, Klopp or Anchelotti not Potter and Poch. This guy

I'm delighted that our midfield rebuild has gone this well. This summer is going to be as important, though. Long term successor to Mo and Virg has to be the priority along with DM and back up RB if Conor goes out on loan.

To be fair, watching you have a meltdown right now is just as funny 😊

Saliba as excellent young centre back and has ten plus years in him.

On just ability then VVD obviously.

No doubt Van Dijk has been a very good player for Liverpool and his record speaks for it's self but in terms pure ability Saliba is 22 and he's already playing for a top club and is one of the first names on the team sheet that's something Van Dijk obviously wasn't able to do at the same age. Players will develop differently over time and only time will tell who will be considered the better player. That being said I'm bias so I will obviously go with Saliba.

O.P Saliba all day. Watching his performances so far I just wish he could have been happy playing at Arsenal straight away. He looks to me to be almost every bit as good as VVD already and still has his whole career ahead of him. But then I do see him as some freak of nature for his age, years ahead of said age. A player with all the goods to (with good luck and career choices) become one of the best there's ever been in the position. The boy is freakishly aware for his age and outstanding as a result.
