Yeh, they did say he's going home for intense rehab incase Eygypt progress, he looked ok walking off but seemingly it's worse than thought
The hosts will being hoping Egypt lose tonight. Otherwise it is groups E and F that offer the most hope.
Think they will get through, but it doesn't offer a lot of hope for their knockout chances. They would play a group winner.

The BBC continue their discrimination against the Asian cup with zero mention or links to it from their Football front page yet 8 articles and a dedicated section devoted to AFCON.

The AFCON seems to get a lot more attention than even the Copa America. I assume because of the large African population, decent times for the games and a lot of PL players there makes it more attractive than the Asian cup. The fact not even TNT, DAZN or Viaplay bothered with the Asian cup shows the lack of interest.

AFCON generally is far higher quality also - Asia really only has Japan, South Korea, Iran and Australia. The Saudis are unpredictable and Qatar are decent recently. Africa has loads of traditionally good sides - Morocco, Egypt, Tunisia, Algeria, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Cameroon, Nigeria, Senegal, South Africa, Congo. You then also get some really decent sides like Mali, Cape Verde and Angola.

And the fact hundreds of not thousands play across europes leagues. Few Asians by comparison
Amazing that Ivory Coast are so bad as hosts. Losing 4-0 to a team like that is unreal. Up there with Brazil getting pumped by Germany.

The drama in this finale round of group matches today has been next level.
Ghana took Mo Kudus off to rest him, and then they let 2 goals in in the next 5 minutes
West Ham will be pleased, he should be back for Bournemouth and Man Utd next week.
Ghana's only hope is if Cameroon draw and Zambia get beat by 2. At least they only have to wait until tomorrow evening for the first bit.

Imagine the odds for Equatorial Guinea and Cape Verde topping groups A and B

Who knows how those last games go but morocco will want to top the group (not that it is an easier last 16 really) so DR congo should be egypts opponents.
