Can't believe they uses all 3 reviews so early. That's pretty bad in game management

By far Stokes worst day as captain here

All too predictable first day for England in India.

At least they will get two extra days rest.

Awful day for England. Not a surprise, however.

Tidy bit of wicketkeeping.

Jimmy clearly didn't think he'd be able to take the last 10 wickets he's playing for on this pitch so decided to sit it out.

Honest question how does someone like Hartley and Ahmed get picked for England to play in an overseas tour against India?

I'm looking at both players 1st class stats and they are let's face it pretty pathetic. If they were averaging 20odd then yea take a chance but both are in the middle 30s fml.

I don't mind Ahmed playing because he's been in the setup for a while and is clearly being groomed as Leach's successor, but picking both Hartley and Bashir alongside him is just too little experience.

We needed at least one other guy alongside Leach who's got 3/4 county seasons under their belt.

I forget this was on but it's on bloody TNT Sports anyway!

Ben Duckett needs to be tested for drugs if he thinks England are in a strong position.

There's a general lack of spinners. I'm guessing they've tried certain guys and don't think they're really up to it and decided to take a punt on some youngsters. But here's what has been said about Liam Dawson and others:

Those England spinners are predictably struggling now after a decent start today. India 287-4. KL Rahul 86*.

But Rahul is out!. 288-5.

Pleasant surprise, I expected to wake up to India only being three down.

Parkinson has fallen way down the pecking order sadly as he's a pretty experienced leg spinner with decent stats. Lancs have chosen to back Hartley too although they're bringing in Nathan Lyon for the championship this summer.

Most teams prefer a spinner who can bat so tends to be less of a specialist and more of an all rounder, its why Hartley started getting the nod over Parkinson.

In happier news Australia are being smashed by the Windies

Wow, they were in deep trouble too. Given how inexperienced that side is, this isn't too clever from the Aussies. Hopefully the Smith opening experiment continues to fail.

Wow they were sixty odd for five when I last checked yesterday.

Pretty embarrassing that Root looks our most dangerous spinner

You mean Rootalitharan?

England (Root) finally get a decision that sticks. 356-6.
