Sounds like a good night for Fabio and his replacement then.

Open goal really, was sitting there half an hour before I slotted it home which frankly is embarrassing.

Just seen on fb that the university presented this plan on the molineux Quarter development this week. Looks very similar to the pre-covid plans that were kicking around a few years back. No idea on timescales. Presumably the uni and stadium projects will be separately funded. I imagine the uni will be able to press ahead regardless of whether wolves decide to or not. Kind of ties in with the rumours a few years back about the Asda site being bought but not as it turns out for stadium expansion.

The university is the biggest growth organisation in Wolverhampton. From the city centre campus to the science park and many places in between including most of the buildings between Molineux and the Stafford Road. As part of the council’s master plan the university and football club are going to need to work in sync to secure planning permission for the development of the Molineux quarter. Just hope Fosun are sufficiently engaged to fund their part of the deal

Looks like Jonny will sign permanently for PAOK Salonika on Friday on a free transfer. Sad end to his time at Wolves. One of the best full backs to play for the club prior to his injuries

Most amazing part of that design photo is the open area behind the south bank which seems to form a big plaza all the way to St Peter’s church. That will mean the ring road will go through a tunnel underneath it. Makes it even more of a real link between Molineux and the city centre

We're moving our office's to the science park. It's a pretty decent office space

Used to do work on the science park. Modern offices and plenty of parking

Will supporters have the option of walking into town through the new big plaza, or use the existing subway under the ringroad?

Looks like quite a change to car parking facilities. Nothing behind the North Bank. But a new multi story where Whitmore Hill currently is

Not very encouraging press conference from GON today with regard to the transfer market. He said the club had been working hard on two centre forward options but have now had to accept they can’t get those done financially.

posted on 25/1/24

Really hope the club have alternative options then. It would be risky in the extreme to allow both Fabio and Sasa to leave without any other striker coming in.

Surely it can't be that difficult to find a striker that can guarantee you 30 goals a season for around £10mk?

posted on 25/1/24

Can see your point WO.

Alternatively, the combined cost of Sasa and Fabio was about 5 times your £10mk, and between them they managed about one fifth of your 30 goals. Somewhere the maths went wrong.

As usual, the transfer window end is coming fast, a week today and nothing done as regards coming in.
Why oh why does this happen every time ?
What I don’t want is a last minute panic buy of someone who is a completely hopeless.

Exactly this. Whilst Sasa nor Fabio were the answer to our prayers, neither are completely hopeless.

We simply must have a fall back option?

Chelsea want 45 mill for Broja, hence that collapsing.

Be nice to get a striker the next few days but honestly not that bothered, the season is done anyway, may be a good time to let Fraser get some minutes rather than loan him.

Some will say Europe is still but the reality is we have been good and bad this season and the truth is we are somewhere in-between and mid table is about right.

The club have already said this is a relaxed window. They aren't going to do any business unless it works for us.

We've seen how other clubs have been stung with FFP and we know we are close to the line this year. I have no issues with the club not signing players this window if the right player isn't available.

How did you get Tams log in details Amiga?

Right player, right price.

WO doesn't get it or the intricacies involved in running a football club.

If the target was purely survival this season and let's be fair something will have gone badly wrong in the second half of the season for us to go down, then we may as well save our cash till the summer

posted on 25/1/24

If we’re are not buying a striker, then why did we let Fraser go on loan. I’m sure he would, could have done as good a job as Sasa, probably better.
I for one would have accepted that.
There is always the possibility of 1,2 or 3 injuries which could leave us short.

Have we let Fraser go out on loan?

I see no reason to spend money on players that are deemed too expensive. We have to be careful (still) with regard to the FFP rules.

Unlike you cinci, I'm very happy with our progress under O'Neil and our current form is just highlighting the difference he's made.

You never seem to be happy these days and if your predictions had materialized in my competition, we would be in the relegation zone on 14 points. I'm also hopeful that we can progress even higher in the league and maybe, just maybe, push for a European spot.

You say our season is done anyway, but I doubt the others on here feel the same way.

We loaned out both Fabio and Sasa for two reasons I think. 1) Neither of them produced the goods and 2) we seem to be playing a system that doesn't need an out and out CF. I say keep Fraser and have him as an option for the remainder of this season.

Hwang came on after 62 mins in their 3-3 draw against Malaysia and now face Saudi Arabia in the next round on 30th. Young Justin Hubner and Indonesia are also in the next round.

I don't think I've seen anything that suggests Cinci isn't very happy with the progress we've seen under GON.
