Not seen the others but I absolutely adored Poor Things, can't stop thinking about it. To the extent I've listened to the soundtrack a few times since
I wish they would hurry up and make “There’s a rhino loose in the city” it’s got suspense, loads of killings and a bit of Humpty Dumpty

Leave Trumpy out of it ffs !
I have a strong aversion to films with Emma Stone in, but Poor Things does look up my street. Will make an exception.
Just a heads-up, it's a very explicit film
The Holdovers was excellent. Watched that on the fire stick over Christmas. Really enjoyed it.
No real interest to watch any of the others tbh. Seen a few trailers and read a bit about the others but not desperate to watch them.

You what? That movie is destined to flop. There’s a rhino missing from the zoo, there’s a pile of bodies covered in rhino footprints, a lockup 2 and a half foot deep in rhinoceros crap and Charlton Heston suspects the butler. Nah, not for me.

Underrated episode that one. Also the episode where the Driscoll Brothers are mentioned for the first time, and where we find out that Boycie is infertile.
“Oh well Vicar I had heard that because of the precarious state of the world Boycie and Marlene had decided against bringing a child into it”
“Oh really? I’d heard that Boycie was a jaffer!”.

I like British films because they resemble real life.
Plus they cast ordinary looking people.
Imagine a remake of Auf wiedersehen pet in the US
I believe he calls them RINO’s.

The first one is brilliant. I really liked the second one, although I’m not sure Sam Rockwell suited his role.
Not seen the 3rd

Really recommend Aftersun, possibly the best movie I’ve seen in years.
Thanks for that both. They take awhile to arrive here.
I'm a sucker for a dark comedy well made, so I really enjoyed Poor Things, but I did feel the rhythm dropped off a fair bit in the second half before picking up again near the end.
The first half was superb, though. Loved how out there it was. Fortunately I took the precaution not to watch any trailers, which made it all the more unexpected.
My first impression of Ruffalo's character was that his accent was going to be a serious putoff, but I ended up finding the role hilarious.
By the way, did anyone here catch the Little Richard documentary?
It was only released here last week, on a single 6pm session per day. The trailer looked really good, but as luck has it all my afternoons this week are taken up by work, and I doubt it'll get a second week here. I'm mightily surprised it even got one.

Ruffalo was just excellent wasn't he, the whole cinema burst out laughing when he skipped onto the dancefloor. Funniest delivery of the c-word I've heard on screen too
Agree about the film dropping-off in the middle, I think they spent a bit too long on the Paris section - it made the point it wanted to quite quickly but kept dwelling there.
Overall a really smart film, really enjoyed how the colour/sound/perception changes throughout as the character gets older
Robb, what did you think of Napoleon?
Thought it start really, really well and then descended in a fairly boring romance for the last hour. Kind of annoyed me a bit tbh, especially as I’m such a huge fan of Scott
this my be the worst list ever
Napoleon was hilarious. Ridley cetainy didnt let historical facts get in his way of this yarn. The battle scenes (apart from Toulon) were pure pantomine. I even paid extra to warch imax. We were the only ones in the theatre. Hardly surprising.
Just because you have boats... LOL! c!mon Ridley
Yeah it was a bit shiiiiit really.
im avoiding it because i know itll p me off, the real history is interesting, just base it around real facking events
