Also, thinks Adams will be great, but he'd never heard of him

Been some good reports from F Green Rovers about him.

Good interview. Seems a good lad Jorv.

I hope he hits the ground running & can influence our midfield more!
Is Kieftenbeld available?
For the Bird deal to make any sense at all there must surely be a reasonable transfer fee involved in addition to any loan back which in turn must now mean we will be able to bring in A N Other either on loan or for a smallish fee?
It kinda does make sense. Get some money in for him now that allows the club to reinvest or lose him in the summer for a tribunal fee which most likely will be much less.
He's been sacrificed and he's Returned. Be so poignant if it was closer to Easter
We've sold him for £500,000 and will loan him back for five months at £150,000 a month.
It's the Derby Way. 👍🏻

Thought you went rasta there for a second with a wagwan. Then I remembered the age range.

The management and everyone else knew that we only had one fit striker and the management team were confident at the beginning of January in bringing in at least one striker yet we failed miserably. Whilst Dajune Brown may not be the saviour, surely he has to be better than nobody but we loan him out. I can’t wait to hear the Bs press conference tomorrow “we were so close” 🤬🤬🤬
Frustrating but we don't know if we've signed someone or not yet. Might be confirmed in the morning.
I did wonder if we've made a deal with Bristol City for example to loan us a striker that would be offset against what we get for Bird. I noticed Bristol City have a striker, Nakhi Wells, who is old, past his sell by date and slow. So he'd meet our recruitment criteria. 😉
Let's hang fire on that 'disappointing window' frustrations until tomorrow morning. 👍🏽
Also noticing certain Championship clubs are releasing seasoned players.
Stoke City have released Dwight Gayle this evening so there's an opportunity to pick up that back up striker we desperately need in there, somewhere.

Fair point, and you may be right but even with league restrictions I honestly think our wage budget will be higher than most in League one with the money generated by our crowds, so it seems a little odd.
What a weird / confusing transfer window that was! I have no issue with selling Bird, and believe he will still perform for us this season.
But not getting a striker in (apparently) is such poor management.
We are, literally, 1 injury away from our season potentially ending with no proper striker.
I guess we’re looking in the ‘unattached’ bucket now. Wonder how many Nyambes are in there currently?
Well that’s a blow. It will be interesting to get Warne’s take on it. Either we are still too handcuffed by financial restrictions or else we are incompetent at getting transfers over the line. Either way, our chance of autos is now smaller than it was last week as our rivals have gone out and bought players that will improve them.
It’s a challenge now to stop the season petering out. Hopefully the missing Ws won’t be too far away from a return.
Re the lack of a Striker coming in I'm guessing Warne and Co won't pay ott for dross... and I don't blame them tbh... we go again tomorrow...
There were definitely players out there. FG signed 5 and Cheltenham signed 4. Not necessarily what we would have wanted or needed of course so I am sincerely hoping this is a case of just not good enough or not worth the money or obviously too expensive full stop.
And of course hoping Adams turns out to be a beast.
Dwight Gale linked after leaving Stoke yesterday.
Warne has said he will only sign players if they improve us, however if Collins gets injured or suspended before Waghorn and Washington get fit (assuming they do get fit!) we do not have a centre forward so even someone slightly less good than what we have might be better than nothing in that position, at least in the short-term.
I always liked Lucas Joao who I read somewhere is out of contract having ended a stint in China early, though Wikipedia reckons he is still there. If the former is true it would be worth inviting him to train at least, to see if he might be worth a short-term contract. It looks as though these sorts of players are all that we can look at right now.
Have to agree about Joao. Always seemed to terrorise us when he played.
