As alt comms said, I absolutely adore our mental Danish baztard

I loved that goal of his last night and the fact he was so pleased when he scored. That's the kind of forward we need.

If he can refine his strength and get even better at runs he can be an asset for years.

He shouldn't really be the main man up front for United though in this current scenario but, who knows, perhaps the deep end will make him swim better later on in his career.

He's now on 1 in 3 for us at 20 years old in his first season in English football in a team that does't create many chances typically. He's also now had three goals this season chalked off (two offside, one as the ball had gone out of play), each of which were excellent finishes in their own right and give a further hint as to his finishing ability.

There's some rawness in his game - some of his back to goal work needs to improve and I'd like to see him win a few more aerial duals - but he's clearly a talent and he looks like he can get better and better for us.

Once he got more and more up to speed with Serie A he went on a strong run in the second half of last season so hopefully with half a season under his belt now in English football and with some of our best players returning we'll see him kick on a bit and finish the season strongly.

He's had a very rapid rise through different levels, quite literally going from Danish football to Austrian football to Italian football to International football to PL football in just two years, never really having a prolonged period of settling anywhere. So he was always going to take a bit of time to get up to speed.

Thought the front line all played well. Rashford was on it, Hojlund was very good as you say and Garnacho ran his balls off even if his final ball was poor at times.

Bruno wasn't great mind but can't have everything.

Honestly, I have no worries about Hojlund and his future with us. He's had a lot to carry on his young shoulders, but he has a great attitude and you just feel that he will just continually improve.

Him, Rashy and Garnacho could be so exciting for the next few years, there is no reason not to be. In fact that's why this season has been so frustrating, because they should be terrorising defences

Probably his best PL game in a UTD shirt, i thought. His movement in the box was much improved and he reaped his reward with the goal.

I love that shot from behind the goal, as the ball (which was probably going in as an own goal anyway) ricochets off his toe, and you see his face planted side-on into the mud contort into angry jubilation. That's our guy!

Great attitude, fast, strong and some deft finishing ability. As other have said still raw but now he’s broke his pl duct Ive high hopes for him.

He actually reminds me of Weggy from a mentality perspective. Loves playing for us, will try his hardest and die for the badge.

There is some on here that think 35 year old journeyman Eric Choupo Moting is a better option.

It is a shame that not all our squad share that mentality.

it often seems that the players who do have the 'weggy mentality' are the ones we as the supporters think are not good enough.. and the ones that we think are, probably dont give a crap about United.

Fergie always said that the first question he asked about a potential player recruitment was... 'does he actually, really, want to play his football for Manchester United above any other club'?

And as Sir Matt told his potential aquisitions... don't worry too much initially about the money, beacause as a Manchester United player you don't have to chase the money. The money will chase you.'

I think if we can get the ball into the right areas he will score goals. Really like Rasmus, not sure if he’s a striker who will fire us to titles but a good player and a sure fan favourite for years to come.

Absolutely

The hyperbole surrounding Mainoo, an average performance by, yet another bang average academy player, is kind of typical of current fandom.

We witnessed similar the night before from the over impressed 'fantwats' of Lancashire's second most successful league club.

Expect it from the followers of lesser clubs - and yes I'm beginning to expect it more and more from the less mature (more gullible) and over excited followers of MUFC.

Januzaj, Macheda, Obertan, Cleverley, Welbeck, Fletcher, Rashford etc - and let's never forget the garbage surrounding 'the twins' when the they were rolling about in the opposition half instead of pretending to be full backs - were all over hyped and at best average - and that's being generous.

Hojlund though does appear to be a genuine asset, just got to get the ball to him more often - it's all pretty basic stuff

That is the problem with United. Players we depend on like Rash Bruno and our 80m new striker probably arent good enough to actually win titles. Which is what Man united is all about.

I do vividly recall the time when we all believed Obertan and Macheda were world beaters in the making though.
