Invaded Ukraine
Dipped his toe in Moldova.

But The West are to blame for his imperialist ambitions.

Having frosty relations doesn't mean you're allowed to invade a country.

It's like responding to being insulted by shooting someone, and then saying "well he shouldn't have insulted me"

Whilst all the time "suppressing" (killing) any and all opposition to his dictatorship ... while old Tucker proudly claims his "exclusive interview" is all about freedom of speech. You couldn't make it up.

I wouldn't listen to any politician for 2 hours, let alone one that controls the narrative in his country by imprisoning journalists.

That Tucker Carlson was also involved puts me off even further.

My as well have called it the propaganda podcasts.

Just another have a go at the West article really.

I know Anglophobia is pretty widespread these days, but not sure whether there's a named phobia for the West. But you have it anyway.

You really have to wonder why these countries are so determined to have enemies and enter/encourage conflict at every given opportunity.

Just oil and gas access and control.

Israel is bypassing the red sea for a route inside where the cargo will arrive on their med port and be then take by road though land to the Arabian sea, thus Israel being able to control the market(this is their ultimate plan) and also control gas in Gaza. Same with Russia and Ukraine.

It is either Gas or Oil. Saddam was killed purely because he dared to do what US always does, try to take another countries natural resources, in this case Kuwait. US without these stolen resources, won;t survive - just look at the 1977 oil crisis how it hit hard the US.
The West is a conniving two faced entity, smile on one hand and steal on another

Frosty relations eh

Has he ever given a thought to not sending FSB/GRU agents to the UK to poison people that disagree with him?

Putin’s long held imperialist ambitions, frosty relations or otherwise, these situations were always going to be manufactured by Russia.

So to sum up, the US, despite its massive amount of natural resources wouldn't survive without gulf oil?

Did the gormless one suggest at all that the quickest way to end the conflict in Ukraine would be to stop invading it?

Whilst the UK and USA are promoting wars and in the case of Bush and Blaire killing the innocent, folks here are more interested in attacking likes of Qatar whilst their house is burning down.

I said this then and will continue to say it. Clean up your house before opening your mouth about others.

Have a good friday.

….

I can not speak for the UK but the US are not promoting any war. You may not understand what promoting means.

What about the multitude of people in this country that opposed such wars?

It's more than possible to both oppose war and oppose regimes that kill journalist, gay people etc.

I never said that. WTF? It even says in the article his invasion is inexcusable.

Also I never said the West were to blame for Russia’s invasion either. If you watched the Putin interview, there is a part where he discussed a multipolar world order of Russia, Europe and USA which then President George Bush Jr said they would be interested in, but then 2 weeks later they told him to feck off.

My point is there was never any need for frosty relations. That doesn’t mean any invasion of Ukraine is justifiable

Putin has been not just using explicitly imperialist rhetoric for well over ten years, but implementing a foreign policy entirely consistent with this rhetoric. He believes that Russia has a right as a great power to exercise control over the countries around its periphery, and acts with political, economic and military aggression toward any that pursue an independent course. Anything less than passive acceptance of this on the part of the West is framed as aggression and the cause of frosty relations. So support for a strong civil society and democratic institutions in any part of the former USSR / Russian empire is unacceptable in Putin's eyes. But I don't think we should apologise for supporting human development in any country. Even if the money flows in that direction because it improves investment opportunities, it's still better for Ukrainians (or Moldovans or Lithuanians) to live in a country where political power is stronger at national level and Western convergence is reducing corruption, than to be left as a vassal of a corrupt authoritarian mafia state. Why should we pander to Russia's territorial claim? Russia's economy is a fraction the size of the EU's. It's not a great economic power. It's a middle-sized, medium-income country - with nukes. This basically comes down to a 'should we poke the bear?' question. Obviously, you have to think hard about how you respond to challenges made by a nuclear power: not just Ukraine, but assassination of dissidents (and chemical warfare against British bystanders in Salisbury), political disinformation factories, and funding of far-right fringes around the world. Pushing back hard isn't risk-free. But showing Putin that we hesitate to push back in the face of threats definitely comes with a lot of jeopardy too.

He barely contributes at all. It’s really more of a monologue than an interview. And it’s free to watch so 🤷‍♂️
