Teams wearing their away kit when there is absolutely no reason to do so

Oh good one. Some of the kit clashes in recent years have been absolutely horrendous.

How do you get drunk in time?

I mean I’m not against a breakfast drink but it’s just all a bit rushed.

Time wasting is the biggest guff. Frankly there should be in independent time keeper that isn't the ref and play 60mins ball in play.

Also guff are the annoying things the authorities could easily fix but refuse to address.

Example 1 the yards stolen at throw ins - lino or ref drops a flag at the place. Touch the flag, yellow card. Step over it, foul throw and given the other way.

Example 2 - players encroaching short corners - just fooking mark the 10 yards arc with the line machine ffs.

Example 3 - wrestling at corners - give penalties for every single one whether the ball was going near the players or not - will soon sort it and should lead to more goals AND maybe eliminate the awful short corners that have only come to dominate the game because defenders are allowed to wrestle attackers to the point of ineffectiveness.

Example 4 - allow VAR to review encroachment of the wall at FKs and let them be re-taken. Do it again and it's a PK. Will soon sort it.

Do it!

They are bad for that. Same with Hearts and Hibs when they both have dark home tops, white shorts and and dark socks.

A couple years back Dundee and St Johnstone both wore dark blue tops, white shorts and dark blue socks. Literally couldn't tell them apart when watching the game. Same kit manufacturer too so essentially the same kit. Look:

Example 3 - absolutely not. They tried that at the 2018 world cup and England got a penalty from every corner by falling over whenever a defender was in close contact with them and made it look like a foul in the VAR replay. Both holding on to eachother but Stones or Maguire would just throw themselves to the ground. They literally went into corners trying to get pens.

I went to bed angry after reading about it.

I think I'd had a few drinks so I let myself cool off before commenting on here, but when I woke up I was still angry so I came on here and had a bit of a rant.

Didn't help. I'm still angry.

It is such a bollox idea.

Similar to when I found out about a sit-com called ‘Heil Honey I’m Home’ (google it)

So some spiv in a suit has had the idea and then some other spiv has said ‘Great idea Steve! Let’s run with it’ even though it’s quite obviously a stupid idea.

Things that annoy me.

People who get annoyed by things they perceive as simple but in reality it's not that simple.

For example
Corners that hit the first man. Generally this is what will happen since the danger area is slightly over the first man's head, dropping onto the attackers heads. Yes you can easily clear the first man if you want and go into a different area but it's generally nowhere near as dangerous.

People who whine about every goal conceded as if every goal is the fault of somebody who don't realise there's another team playing, who also have players, players who are good at what they do.

People who see loads of negativity in a performance when the game is level but then suddenly switch to positivity when a goal is scored. Again there is another team playing, you can play well, do the right things but still find it difficult to score.

People who demand substitutions at half time despite as above the team playing well but not yet scoring.

People whining in general.

People.

Having all of your views on decisions being based on which team you support. Due to this bias, around 90% of football fans' views are invalid in most cases.

People/algorithms that don't understand that if a team has already scored and are winning, they don't necessarily need to attack and try and score again whilst currently winning. Your team attacking more and having more failed attempts to score doesn't mean you deserve to be winning.

Player of the match instead of man of the match.

Everyone covering their mouths to talk.

Players putting the ball a micro millimeter beyond the quadrant for corner kicks.

Idiot fans keeping the ball then throwing it back into play after a new one is in play.

The absurd offside situation where lino’s aren’t allowed to give it until the ball has been touched.

The handball rule.

This is a good one.

I’ll throw in people acting like having a good goal keeper isn’t part of your team.

‘Your keeper had to make four good saves, that’s why you won’

Yes, welcome to football.

Thats a good one.

The over-analysis of football in terms of statistics annoys me generally.

XG is probably my least favourite. One team spends a fortune on midfielders to create chances so their XG is high , another just buys a poacher who converts reliably, so XG is low. Yet people will use the first team's XG as an argument that they "deserved" a game more.

This is a good one. You don't seem to be able to concede a goal these days without people wanting to pin blame on a player. So stupid.
