How is everyone Feeling

Id say injuries permitting, we're favourites. We don't look like losing to anyone and teams look beat before they play us, especially at home. Just need to be consistent through to the end. Think we've hit form at the right time.

Yes LIW I think we'll start to pull away from Southampton. Also I wouldn't totally rule out we catch Leicester but I will concede that may be just out of the teams reach if we don't beat them in a couple of games time.

That's my gut feeling atm but obviously there's always the possibility with Leeds things can go pear-shaped but since the New Year, the system we are playing with Ampadu at the back alongside Rodon, Gruev in midfield, and Rutter as a ten have made us look almost invincible in this league.

Even players like Firpo are looking good and now Gnonto is on fire it's difficult even for the most cautious Leeds fan not to think this is a very special side that is going to get automatically promoted this season.

Buzzing!

Reckon we can still catch Leicester after we beat them at ER!

Chelsea will be an interesting game to see how this team shapes up against a PL side.

The rate at which we are improving seems to be accelerating...just at the right time...

We now seem to have a seriously dangerous attack and a seriously mean defence - that gives me lots of confidence at this point.

weirdly nervous now actually, reality is top two is well within us and it always has been, but now the added pressure of finishing it off, and in mid-feb games do start to become 'must wins'

I have to say I'm surprised Leicester have kept the results up, I've expected them to drop off all season but fair play, because I don't even think they are playing that well.

Was always confident we would come back up, very few stumbling blocks and this division has a lot of very poor teams. Swansea last night looked to be one of them. I don't subscribe to the "we will mess it up in the play-offs just look at our history" school, that makes little sense.
There seems to be three important factors in regards the autos, firstly how will we get on in the home tie against Leicester, win that and I will start to feel very positive.
Secondly, how will Southampton fare now their unbeaten run has come to an end, I suspect yesterday's result was just a blip but I hope they start to drop a few points. No doubt our run has just heaped pressure on top of pressure as far as Southampton are concerned.
Thirdly, that final game of the season, that could be crucial. Hopefully that will be all inflatables and a party atmosphere.
I have discounted Ipswich, their form has gone off a cliff, not losing but not winning, 7 out of the last 18 available they will be looking nervously over their shoulders at West Brom, Coventry, etc. Hope I am right.
I am full of anticipation for the autos but will not be too downbeat if we don't get there.

Hepworth made a comment on the Match day thread about getting past Swansea, ( done) and Plymouth as both are treks.

Feeling quitely confident mainly due to the team really gelling and the fact that our creative front line are all relatively young plus the elder man Paddy well on his way back to full form. - I believe the age factor will be very important in the run in as Jimmy , Rutter and Wilf have energy to burn.

Gruev has shown his international credentials and so has Kamara. Rodon and Amps are just phenomenal and Archie is well just Archie.

Firpo is good attacking on the left and on the half hour mark last night, I thought my eyes were deceiving me, but he made an almost 'Paul Reaney' style block got the ball away - credit where credit's due.

....should mention Joel , he knows where the net is, proven again last night.

Looking good, I was nervous about last night and Plymouth, but if we play like that away in that weather we will do it.
Also Southampton have conceded 8 goals in the last two games against mid-lower teams, something wrong with a defence that does that.
Our goal difference could be worth another point.

Plymouth City Airport to Plymouth Home Park Stadium is less than 2 miles. If they are flying I am sure there are harder away trips.

Ipswich have 2 games in hand that they'll have to score a shed full of goals to take us!..

Southampton have 1 game in hand but also need a few goals, so, at this moment and the way we're playing, I think we should be happier!.

Fairly confident. Southampton’s tough run helps us as well I think. But if we keep injury-free we are definitely favourites

Thing is it only takes a defeat or two for the wheels to start crackling - Leicester and Chelsea in the same of a few days should be a good test for us.

People often say Southampton have a tough run-in, but starting from the 29th March, we have Watford away, Hull home, Coventry away, Sunderland home, Middlesbrough away and Southampton home with only 2 easier fixtures.

Southampton and our run-ins aren't too dissimilar.

Not the time to be counting chickens.

Loving the football we play. The style and guile
we have. Incredibly likable team. Full of talent.

Farke's the best manager in the division. And it's
really starting to show. Obvious that the top 3
are miles better than anyone else. It'll be tight.

But, stay injury-free and I'm hopeful we beat
Soton to autos. Still think Leicester will win the
title at a jog. And whoever finishes third this
season is going to feel gutted.

Average for Auto promotion - 92 ( got a horrible feeling might be a couple higher this year).

Leicester 78 pts - 14 games left - 5 wins gives 93
Leeds 66 - 14 left - 9 wins gives 93
Southampton - 64 - 15 left - 10 wins gives 94.

( OK playing fair, Ipswich 60 - 16 left - 11 wins gives 93)

Barring a historic collapse beyond comprehension Leicester are up probably as Champions.

LUFC's motto should be "Its the hope that kills you.."

Following the disastrous start to the season and the shenanigans of players contracts etc.. I had more or less resigned myself to the play offs from early on this season. Even up to before last nights round of games, that was still my position on the most likely outcome.

However, now its all up for grabs and it will surely be a shootout between Leeds and Southampton for the second auto spot.

For the first time this season, I'm beginning to think we might be that team, but Ive been a Leeds fan for over 57 years now and I know how capable we are of moments of greatness and moments of calamity.

However for the first time in a while I'm starting to feel a combination of excitement and extreme nervousness and it feels great!!

It might be "the hope that kills you" but I'd rather live like that than have no hope at all.

Come on Leeds - make us proud again !!

We must not be complacent, Ipswich are 6 points behind but with 2 games in hand...Southampton 2 points behind with 1 game in hand...Have to keep winning like Man city do, and hoping those 2 go off their trolleys. Leicester are a banker.

Your said this on the match day thread, and LufcGermany replied

“Southampton have 10 goals less than us, so they need the points that we are clawing away at pretty fast!..

And Ipswich would need one hell of a game inhand to catch the 19 they need to take our lead!..

At the moment I don't think any of the two are too happy about the way things are going!..”

I agree with him
