NEW: Sasa Kalajdzic has suffered a serious knee injury, Frankfurt have confirmed.
'a rupture of the cruciate and lateral ligaments in his right knee' - according to the German club.
Feel for the striker. That is devastating.
Yeah, time to call it a career at the top level you would think.
There appear to be an awful lot of knee specialists on social media and mol mix these days that have retired him off but yeah you would think that common sense would be telling him that he's not really built for football.
The only positive is that it is his other knee. But still.
Another positive is that it gives MolMix another chance to go into meltdown. The world was ending last week with Cunha's injury. A lot of them must have hated the positive result.
Not sure whether it’s good news or not that it’s Sasa’s other knee. Evens it out but maybe it would have been better to have one in prime condition
Michael Beale sacked by Sunderland - another bullet dodged.

Just seen that. Seems odd given their results weren't too bad. Seems he is not an easy guy to work with.
I saw a clip at the weekend where he completely ignored a player he had subbed off. Must have been some tension there.
Sasa has a long history of problems with both knees. He hasn’t got a “good” one. I believe he has had two major operations on both knees already.
As others have said, you’ve got to feel for the lad. Seems a really top guy as well.
Just looking at some old league tables:
After 25 matches:
18/19 - 7th - 38 points
19/20 - 8th - 35 points
20/21 - 12th - 33 points
21/22 - 7th - 40 points
22/23 - 15th - 24 points
23/24 - 11th - 35 points
In this context this season is pretty average but of course this doesn't tell the whole story. What it does show though is the excellent job Nuno did and even Lage until our form fell off a cliff in 22.
Don’t think there’s any doubt that Nuno did a good job
When you look through Bruno Lage’s cv he seems to often do well for a while then it falls apart. Main issue for him in my opinion is that when things start going wrong he doesn’t know how to turn things around.
I think with GON you have to make an allowance that he only took over the job a few days before the season started which is a long way from ideal. In that context he had done brilliantly and it seems to keep getting better, and that despite the absences of key players.
All clubs have absences to key players. Our biggest issue is an evidently paper thin squad. GON must surely be a candidate for manager of the season, in the context of what he evidently had to work with and the complete lack of a preseason.
Shocking game of kick and rush at Everton tonight, neither side capable of the getting the ball on the deck and playing some football.
Meanwhile the u21s have joined the men's and womens teams in owning the Albion tonight, 3-0, 2 from Leon Chiwome and Alfie Pond the scorers.
Saw some of that Everton game, terrible stuff to watch and no surprise to read that most of Everton’s goals come from dead ball situations. They’ll hear their results of the appeal against the 10 point deduction this week and that will set the bar for future sustainability breaches. Seems to be predictions in the game that the ten points will be reduced. But they have a second charge to address also and Forest have overstepped the mark more than them.
The premier league have to strike a balance with these penalties between not letting them get away with it while not letting it become the main factor in deciding relegations
We're second in set piece goals. What does that say about us?
There is only one team above us?
I think it's good that we do well in set piece goals, because we do pretty well in goals from open play too.
Arsenal have scored the most set piece goals followed by Everton then Wolves. But nobody comes near to Everton when it comes to set piece goals as a proportion of total goals. More than half
Reading that after their defeat to Birmingham last Saturday, Michael Beale insisted all the players reported for a hard day’s training on Sunday with a particular focus on finishing.
Beale himself took the day off
Diogo Jota faces months out with a knee injury he sustained in the win at Brentford on Saturday.
Great player for Liverpool and for us, but certainly quite injury prone.
Will he be back to face us in the last game of the season at Anfield on May 19th?
Fantastic player, no doubt. However, he’s always going to half the season.
A luxury we could ill afford, but Liverpool can.
The Brazil manager was at Spurs on Saturday to see Joao Gomes give a man of the match performance. On the back of that he must stand a chance of getting called up for his first cap. Brazil’s next game is a friendly against England at Wembley on March 23rd
Bench for Joao me thinks.
