Kyogo needs to bin the gumshield like Ali Johnson did the mask. It’s his kryptonite 👍🏼
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He's been wearing it since he came to the club.
I'm definitely in a minority here but that second half was atrocious. The fact we hit them for 6 in the first half masked the fact that we still continued to have a good half and a bad half.
We drew the second half 1v1 against 10 men. Had that been the score at half time everyone would have been calling for Rodgers head. Then scoring 6 second half people would have been annoyed at the first.
At Half Time we were buzzing but I said history shows Rodgers teams take their foot off the gas when comfortable. the day we won the league beating Rangers we were 5 up after 55 mins and we sat back after
The first half showed how we can play when we mix it up and play quicky, it was great to watch. Perhaps the changes made the difference and shows the lack of strength in our squad, Ralston at left back, Kelly into the middle (though he scored a beauty), Welsh into CB, Palma onto left wing.
Had it been 4 in the firts half and 3 in the second I'd probably not fuss but that second half was turgid

I did think this was a lucky one, doesn't do much tbh but it's enough to slow him down which lets Butland get to the ball.
The ref had a shocker tbh, the foul on Barasic which wasn't that lead to a Killie goal.
The handball (possibly 2, haven't seen the clips again) from Killie that weren't given.
But we got a great result at one of the toughest places in the league to pick up all 3 points.
Captain fantastic with another huge moment to add to his collection and Lawrence showing why he's so important to us.

Sima not training with the team yet - just gym stuff.
Cortez didnt look like a full hammy pop so hopefully its only a few weeks. He isnt in the European squad anyway.
Hopefully Matondo isnt too far away either.
Really never seen anything like out injuries this season - again last night we went into that game without Danillo, Sima, Roofe, Matondo, Jack and Cantwell all missing middle to front.
Last nights result was huge for us. It was as much of a struggle as I thought it would be - so delighted to come away with three points.
I think Celtic will have to go to Rugby park again in the league this season which could be a tough one for them.

I think that’s a bit harsh. Dundee were always going to improve and save pride by being stronger in the 2nd half. Teams ahead 6-0 at ht do not need to push with the same intensity in the second half. We scored a great 7th goal, hit the bar and dominated play. After the pash this season it was a very pleasing performance a La Ange style 👍
Maybe a tad harsh after a 7-1 win, but I know where you’re coming from. At least BR might have finally stumbled on our best XI for whatever “system” we’re supposed to be playing … he just needs to stick to it now! Still alarmed by how ropey we look out of possession, but CCV back helps massively on that front … as does finally playing an ACTUAL DM, something I’ve been calling for since I don’t know when.
I don't understand the handball situation anymore.
How can the ref/VAR look at those 3 incidents last night and conclude that the first is a pen and the last isn't? I don't understand it.
Always been an advocate of VAR but unfortunately its only as good as the people using it and seems that even with the ability to look at incidents several times over between several referees there's still an inability to apply the right decisions. The Hearts penalty last night was equally a shambles. Officiating has become really horrendous.
… that was to Call Sign BTW.
That being said, great result last night for us. Especially after going a goal down. Not a game we would have won over the last few years.
Btw the save from Butland at 1-0 is the game changer. What a signing he has been. At this rate, especially if he ends up back in the England squad, I've no idea how we hold on to him.

Guess the problem as always would be money.
If he wins a couple of trophies this season then gets offered £50k+ a week on a 3 or 4 year deal somewhere down south then he might feel he has to go. He clearly loves it at Rangers but money talks ultimately.
He could get £50k pw as a back up keeper at a top 6 club and nearer double that as a first choice starter for your average middling EPL team.

Agree but there's also the point that we kind of need to get to a point where we do sell players of value. The challenge for us is a proper scouting and recruitment system that allows us to identify talents and identify their replacements when we sell.
I'm not going to try and put a price on Butland but we all know the market value of English Internationals. And if we're honest someone playing in Scotland is only getting in because of a lack of high quality options in their position which makes them more valuable.
Butland was someone that for years was lauded as a prospect - still the youngest keeper to play for England - and if bigger clubs see him capturing the form he was always capable of and back in the national team we might get some bids in the summer we can't and shouldn't turn down.

I think he is in a better place now than he was when he left England.
He had had injury problems, he hadnt been playing yesterday and was out of contract.
I think he was more of a Championship level starter/bottom half back up before he came here.
He has recaptured his form though and been outstanding for us. A couple of decent European performances and a potential England recall would elevate his standing down south again IMO.

That being said, great result last night for us. Especially after going a goal down. Not a game we would have won over the last few years.
Btw the save from Butland at 1-0 is the game changer. What a signing he has been. At this rate, especially if he ends up back in the England squad, I've no idea how we hold on to him.

If he gets back in the squad at rangers then maybe he will be happy where he is. Let's hope so anyway

Didn't he give that up to come here though?

I think he is in a better place now than he was when he left England.
He had had injury problems, he hadnt been playing yesterday and was out of contract.
I think he was more of a Championship level starter/bottom half back up before he came here.
He has recaptured his form though and been outstanding for us. A couple of decent European performances and a potential England recall would elevate his standing down south again IMO.
