If players can express themselves, focus on executing the plan and on their level of performance then if they are good enough, and consistent enough, they will perform to their best and the positive results will follow.
It is the polar opposite to Jose and conte. It also takes the pressure out of the moment, out of the big games. If the result doesn't matter, if all that matters is your performance and the teams performance then if you are good enough you will succeed.
There was much talk on here about Villa being must win or must not lose. Those thoughts in a players head will affect them, probably negatively. You could see it in Villa who had a must not lose setup and approach and they were passive and off the pace throughout. reminded me of Contes Spurs. Spurs players will not go on the pitch with must win / must not lose thoughts in their head. It will be, must perform to my best, must be brave, must be committed must give my all.
I applaud this approach. Anyone who interprets it as simply not caring about losing is massively missing the point.

I don’t understand why people have to make things so personal on an internet forum. Fair enough if you disagree with someone but some of the posts on here are at best petulant and worse abusive. I disagree with a few people on here about lots of things but I respect their views and right to have them.
Just filter someone if you disagree enough to post abuse.
I didn’t filter anyone for nearly twenty years of being on this site. Wish I had. Recently I filtered the usual posters who are vile and this site got much more interesting and pleasant. We’re all spurs fans (I think) at the end of the day. God knows we get enough abuse off other clubs fans.
