I'm just having a pit stop on the way home and reading the managers views on today's game.
As usual, the losing manager has his own slant on things, but Evatt seems to think they were the better team, dominated the game and created more chances.
Personally, I thought the 2 teams were very evenly matched, we had more chances/shots than they did but they had more possession. In all honesty, a draw would have been the fair result but we deserved the win for our attitude on ... and off ... the pitch.

Now, back to my KFC!

I think if they knew how to finish we'd be in a very different mood but it's better to be lucky than good as we used to say about Lamps.

Strictly speaking that was really credited to Napoleon 2W

Seems to be the norm in L1, (I'm glad Lincoln hadn't yet found their shooting boots when we went to Sincil Bank)

That was a proper nerve-shredder. There was very little between the teams but I thought we were keener than Bolton to try to get a goal in the second half. Warne's substitutions were inspired. Tommo played a blinder second half, so busy and such a nuisance where the captain had been ineffectual. Ward had done well but Wilson was electric on the right and I thought his ball-carrying lifted both the team and the crowd.

Fozzy was simply sensational, an absolute rock, and Cashin and Nelson also absolutely superb. I thought Sibley really struggled today and I was very relieved when Elder came on because I was convinced a goal would come for them down our left.

My words of concern about Wildsmith pre-match clearly had the desired effect because the two saves he made were stupendous and absolutely vital because it was the kind of match which felt as though the first team to score might be the only one to do so.

In the second half in particular the atmosphere was terrific and I thought the Bolton fans were also excellent. It's astonishing that you can get over 32,000 fans to watch a third-tier game and fitting that it was on the 2-year anniversary of the march to save the club.

Obviously Reg's injury is a huge blow but he was moving quite well on the pitch after the match in the celebrations so hopefully it is a lower grade of hamstring tear, if that's what it is. Collins may be back soon and there is talk that JJ might also rmake a shock return. I thought I spotted him on the pitch after the match aswell.

Warne's interview was very good in terms of keeping his feet on the ground but nonetheless it feels like a massive win with just seven games to win. If we were to win five of those and lose the other two Bolton would need to win all seven to overtake us. It's within touching distance.

I think you're off with your Hourihane comment, we needed 2 DM's & Hourihane isn't a DM PW changed that & it worked

JJ was there Vidal.

I agree Smith coming on for Gayle settled us down but Tommo had a great impact for me.

I think Warne said JJ had come up to support the team so I wouldn't expect him on the pitch any time soon.
I think the subs took a little time to settle, but once they got into the game we were the more hungry.
Tommo too was everywhere.
We are 4 points ahead...but effectively 5 with our far superior GD.
I agree with Warne, we do struggle with 3 games in a week but I think our spirit plays a massive part in what we do. UTR

I read Ian Evatt bemoaning that Bolton didn't deserve to lose yesterday...I also read Darren Ferguson bemoaning that Posh didn't deserve to lose either.... as the Rolling Stone's song says... "you don't always get what you want"... at this stage of the season I'd rather see us picking up points rather than just playing pretty...

Can’t even get a bet on Derby finishing in the top 6

In all honesty Terry, we didn't deserve to lose at Bolton & if it wasn't for a dodgy sending off I doubt that we would have lost, but we'll never know.
Yesterday was the biggest win of the season for us IMHO, on to the next biggest game of the season....

Cycled into work this morning. Saw and heard the first skylark of the spring. Things are on the up.. I think we will sell out for Pompey away now, despite it being on TV on a Tuesday night. We will need to be at our best on and off the pitch.

A sudden epidemic of optimism has broken out among Derby fans. Has been known to be dangerous in the past. Warne has bring the players down to Earth before the opposition does. Still a few opportunities for us to screw up. We have the 4 point cushion and superior goal difference but both these can disappear with a couple of complacent performances. Fingers crossed for a successful run in.

We have a robustness now that was absent previously which means we are better equipped to grind out games. Adams has made a huge difference. I thought we were physically stronger than Bolton yesterday and I also thought we saw out the game better than some panicky ends to games earlier in the season against poorer opponents. This all bodes well. I really hope Fozzy keeps his place because he just seems to spread calmness. His decision making in defence is spot-on.

Just watched the highlights again. The Wildsmith save in the first-half really was top drawer.

In the build up to the second save I thought that if their player had gone down in the box when he went past Cash it would have been a penalty. On the highlights you can see thatin fact Cash pulled out of the challenge which was very wise of him. Maybe Wildsmith would have saved the penalty anyway!

When I saw it live I thought ‘well done Mr Cash … mature, smart and quick thinking averted a penalty’

Cash is an absolute gem of a defender. He reads the game so well. It's hard to believe he's still so young. I consider it a privilege to watch him play.

I believe the minimum recovery for a hamstring tear is four weeks? So sounds like its not too bad under the circumstances.
