Are you still thinking about it Pasty?

1981 I tell you.
I'll have that in my obituary at this rate.

It's points that win prizes. You don't get them without scoring.

Are you thinking that Evatt will go if we don't go up?

posted on 16/3/24

Just frustrated now. As I said, we played alright.
There'll be a discussion if we don't go up, it had better include my investment as well.

Five years was too long for me. I want to do something within 12 months.

Oh well play offs it is then.

Stevenage away at the end of the month isn't it.
Will the break have done does more harm than good, when we kick off again.

That's not a given.
Anyway that's me done for today. I'll be back tomorrow.

The suspense goes on. Is there a Bolton fan alive, who's not suffered it before.

That's me off to dinner then the movies. Time to take the mind of football for today.

Thanks Benny.

Depressing as it is, the fat lady hasn't sung in BL6 yet. She'll no doubt keep us waiting, she's always been a right tease that one.

No doubt Bolton will still give it a go. The form since the Christmas schedule has been too patchy for a side targeting automatic. Not all on yesterday. Losing at Wigan, Blackpool, orient, drawing with Charlton, Northampton, Exeter. It's not all been on one game.

Yes, we have been too inconsistent. Didn't we have the same problem at this stage of the season last year? It is too familiar.

Don't panic Mr Wareing, That's Evatt's message to the fans. Of course, he has to be positive otherwise there is no point in carrying on with the dream. I hope that it doesn't turn into a nightmare.

Can we get promoted through the playoffs if we don't manage automatic promotion? We tried that last season and look what happened.

Only promotion this season would be a improvement on last season.
Another failure in the play offs, would show we have stagnated. Despite spending a large wad of cash on the squad.
Injuries or not, these are the things the manager is paid to manage.

Let us not forget the lesson of Phil Neal.
amen

If it is play offs make sure finish 3rd or 4th and be at home 2nd leg. Massive advantage. Players coming back. If got Baxter, Charles and Adeboyejo back fit will be much stronger.

Made the mistake of going on the Facebook group Bolton till I die. My work I've never known such an extreme lot. After a win everything is right with the world, a defeat it's end of the world stuff.

Derby's Twitter feed is much the same! Tbh you were unlucky to lose, much as we were at your place 👍🏼

Losing at derby won't cost promotion. We haven't won at pride park apart from a random cup tie. I didn't mention the record deliberately. Like Bloomfield Road it's the ultimate jinx ground for Bolton.

Who remembers, Chance in a Million, the comedy on tv in the early 80's.
You know what I'm thinking this morning don't you!

Would Bruce Rioch's side have lost those games?

posted on 18/3/24

Rioch had the right tools. Some belting strikers. What this side really lacks.

Not really watched blogs since those early Stuntpeg days.

It's funny I mention her there.
She has an interested one on Millmoor, that old Rotherham ground. Still there many years after they left for their New York ground.
Worth a watch for the mystery.

If there were any pubs left, there'd be some points in a pub quiz available in that video.

Matchday. Oh it's not. The first Tuesday since January 16th we don't have a match. No rush home to struggle to get ifollow or get to the toughsheet and do I have time to park far enough to get away after the match or park on Asda and stuck for a while. What am I going to do?

I've been saying for months that we needed better strikers. Despite scoring 71 goals, we have missed so many chances that if 20% of the missed chances had gone in, I believe we would be top of the league.

For the greater part of the season, our defence has been good but we have conceded quite a few sloppy goals which could have been prevented. So all in all it's been a collective failure both up front and at the back.

I see that JDB has said that the pressure is now off, he might be proven right but I think it should still be on. A steely determination is what we need now and I hope that Derby slips up and we can take advantage.
