Have times really changed?
I think that’s a bit of a right wing narrative, there’s always been school bully’s, and there’s always been gangs, and I’m pretty sure MOST young people don’t walk around with weapons.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Sizzle…………where did I say MOST young people carry knives. How do you put my comments as right wing narrative? Once again you are trying to aim blame at something which may well not exist outside of your biased thoughts.
Rather than trying to turn this into a political type conversation, why don’t you revisit your comment about the young lad hitting out first.
As previously said, most thugs will just pile in on a smaller adversary and who knows how that might have turned out. Times have changed, whether you like to admit it the the statistics covering the last decade show:
In 2022/23, there were approximately 6.74 million crime offences across England and Wales, compared with just over four million ten years earlier.Knife crime alone has risen by around 16% in the past few years.
Yet we are still a safe country compared to others such as South Africa with Johannesburg & Pretoria. The USA with Detroit, Chicago, Memphis and Oakland.
Brazil with Rio De Janeiro, Sao Paolo. London is safer than all of the above cities plus many more worldwide.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Stop talking facts. I went to Rio De Janeiro twice, both times I lost my phone through pickpocketing.
I just laugh when the Dailyfail idiots keep calling London a S*ithole.
If they want to see real crime, they should leave London and venture to some of these countries you have mentioned.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What is real crime though bro?

Human trafficking

Those cities I have mentioned, I have been to all of them except for Pretoria and I am not putting London down in any shape or form. When my wife was alive we visited London at least 3 times a month for a variety of reasons such as Theatre, RAH, Royal Academy & other museums. I was also a season ticket holder at Spurs until last year and only gave my ticket up due to having both hip and knee replacement operations. I have NEVER been accosted or threatened during any visits to our capital.l also worked in London on the 2012 Olympics and used to travel in to both Canary Wharf (LOCOG offices) and Stratford on a daily basis and have never witnessed any other attacks or severe harassment on others. Even late night drunks were in the main good natured.

This is no surprise in all honesty. For the size of England, London is about to become a mega city ( Which is any city with 10m people or more.) most people come to this country, they want to live in London and with that comes the above.
It has definitely spiralled out of control in recent times, but it is blown out of proportion believe you me. Most of London is now gentrified and on the whole very safe.

How does something spiral out of control and still be blown out of proportion?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The knife crime has.
Kids killing each other going from 1 to 3 is sad and spiralling out of control in my eyes.
The point of the matter is, a middle class white woman from Chelsea is not getting stabbed walking around London, ergo it is blown out of proportion.
Most of the crime is youth centric.
Mayfair theft you see this in a city as wealthy as this in an area like that there’s no shocks there.

This can be said for a middle age white man. Middle age black man. Middle age black woman.
Most knife attacks in the Capital is youth centric. I am not going to blame it all on them, there's deeper issues to this and I just don't have the time to explore.

A knifing
A shooting?
Theft?
Human trafficking
London has it all
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This is no surprise in all honesty.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
How does something spiral out of control and still be blown out of proportion?
