So you are not going to watch the game on Thursday then against Chelsea !...Woeful v Woeful !

and yes the P/L is not that great.

Nonsense. Both us and Newcastle finished top 4 in our CL groups this season. Very tough groups as well I might add.

Surely with the likes of Sheffield United, Burnley and Luton in the league no-one is claiming it is the strongest ever? Bournemouth and Fulham look safe already despite being very ordinary PL teams.
West Ham are top 7 despite their fans wanting the manager out.

Logical fallacy. You're trying to make a statement about the absolute quality of the league based on the relative qualities of the teams. If you multiply the quality of each team by five, the same relative quality will apply. Of course the league is better now. From top to bottom the budgets are bigger, professionalism of operations higher, and the quality and diversity of tactics is better than ever.

That's why a manager who stood out for his bold and innovative ideas in the Netherlands has, unfortunately, fallen short in England.

Yet no-one can spend, clubs have to sell their best players and teams are getting points deducted for financial wrong-doings

Football as a whole has dropped in quality. too much emphasis on stats and 'our player has run more than yours' or the ridiculous no dribbles past rubbish.

Jude Bellingham is a top player but he is some drop off from ronaldo, messi or modric should he win the ballon dor.

how many players in Europe are you really excited to watch. a generation ago you'd sell your house to see 1 of any 11 players for Madrid or Milan.

now they have vinicius JR who is the worst Brazilian superstar in my lifetime.

its not the Prem, its Football

It’s stronger from competition perspective, the teams at the top (except City) are performing at their highest levels in years. There is a lot more parity as well. You have to give and take, if you want a competitive title race, it’s difficult to have teams towards the lower end be competitive.
The problem is the level between promoted teams and rest is too big and seems to get worse each year. The midtable all the way to EL contention have got some really good individual players and teams on their day that can shock the best.

In comparison to the major European Leagues, the PL is clearly the strongest. The standard of football as a whole has declined over the last 10 years or so

posted on 1/4/24

Also need to remember that 5th place gets top 4 this season so the standard doesn't have to be as high to get top 4.

Last bit is also true, players have been coached to play a certain way. It feels like this is how the Germans national team used to play for years up until their WC win and it’s been adopted across Europe.

This article has gone from strength of the Premier League to just moaning about United

It’s amazing how good United’s defence is considering how little it cost to assemble

When you have Maguire at the helm you tend to have a pretty solid defence. Do you want to buy him?

Maguire is part of the most expensive club side ever formed and the most valuable international side ever assembled. That makes his one of the best and most valuable players ever to play the game.

I don't think it's the PL, it's football in general. There aren't really any players around that get you on the edge of your seat like there have been.

Teams like City while fantastic are pretty boring. It's as if they have an AI controlling each player, doing things by the absolute quantum calculation. They dont really have any player that excites you. Personal opinion.

I'm trying to think of a player who I enjoy watching and there isn't one.

The last most recent player, I hate to say it was Mane. A genuinely class player who made things happens on a consistent basis.
Maybe Mbappe but he plays in a dogsh!t league where the standard of teams around him are no better than us.

David Silva was fantastic to watch. KDB not as slick as Silva but still a top player.

All this unfortunately.

Money, Greed and social media have ruined the joy and love of football.

Glazer on yet another baseless rant. This season’s finished him off.

Probably best ignoring the OP.

😂

We've conceded the most shots in the entire league since Jan 1st out of all 20 clubs and we still have the 4th best defensive record in the division. Even Villa and Spurs have conceded more goals than we have.

And what is it you think this point proves, out of interest?

So the fact that United are crap but lucky means the league isn’t strong?

Ok
