Yeah but it doesn't equal fail then does it.
As for the soul, I'm not sure giving an Ai free thinking would be a good idea. Although I'm sure someone will do it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Call me a pessimist, but I really do think there will be law suits once they do allow ai driving. And as I said earlier it will be in the edge cases. By and large it will probably be a success, but there will be issues
Oh for sure there will be issues, and I'm sure lawsuits, as an accident will happen, as they do with humans.
But data will show Ai to be far safer, and that will drive it's adoption. Any country not embracing self driving will be falling behind.
Honestly people need to understand this is the future, and in general humans are terrible drivers, honestly look at stats, driving should be illegal! But if we can create some decent networks, use of big data, and this type of self driving AI we will see massive decreases in road related deaths, much better traffic flow, and in theory cheaper insurance as a result.
Good comment Simon. My wife works for the police, and has attended numerous accidents where the human driver was on their phone, distracted, or simply driving too fast.
Once automation is accepted people will find it strange humans were ever allowed to drive.

Yup, I think you are right. Be a rocky road getting there, but it’s probably the way to go
That's it Nick, again I have no data to back this up though, but if you asked me to guess I would say 90% of accidents are caused by people being stupid, with somewhere round 10%, though wouldn't surprise if much less was caused by actual mechanical issues with the
car. And as you said we will look back and say "we done that", we have already improved massively on systems and removed the human aspect which in most things mechanical is the weakest link. Computers do maths that removed the vast majority of human mistakes done by accounts, we made automated phone systems that removed the human operator l, increased time and removed the vast majority of mistakes that came with it. Roads and traffic are systems, the biggest flaw in them are humans. You don't need to have a soul or be artistic to drive, you need to follow rules that make the system work, humans in general are unable to do that.

Good discussion Baz You were not wrong in what you were saying. (apart from FSD = fail bit) We were just looking at it from opposite sides of the fence.
Good stuff.

Yup, good debate, keep posting these amiga.
It is impressive, but it's ultimate challenge is having to navigate through the standard idiot inconsiderate driver.
The amount of idiots on the road is baffling. The ai will likely have more common sense than people do one day, which is depressing
Yes house. So many people who think they are great drivers, only avoid accidents because other people are doing things to make up for their stupidity.
Also, how is it going to cope with roadworkers? Who put up temp lights then fack off for half a year, leaving behind a detour that looks like a Salvador Dali Acid dream?
We'll all be jobless by the time Musk is done.
