It'll be interesting, win or lose, to see how Jones progresses from here - will it kick-start his career to another level, or will this be his two weeks in the limelight. He's admitted himself in interview he's not been doing anything special, not scoring very heavily, just being solid and difficult to beat, and things have gone for him and he's taken full advantage.
Will be a real dream moment for him

I hope Jones can do it and I think he will.

Hope Wilson wins it tbh.

It has been a very poor quality championship. Wonder how much the pockets/tables have contributed to that.

Its quite baffling how none of the big boys found form in this Championship. They would have cruised to it if so.

Lots of players will be kicking themselves considering how the draw opened up. Mark Williams, Mark Allen, Ding. The thing is no one expected Ronnie and Judd to capitulate the way they did.

Kyren will hopefully win. Jak Jones can win maybe a Championship League or Riga Masters next season.

I guess it's just been one those strange tournaments full of upsets. I prefer Wilson to win, but if Jones manages it, then well done to him for taking that opportunity when no-one else could.

Jak Jones is in the top 16 now even if he loses the final. He would be ranked 6th if he wins it.

It's just an easy watch isn't it, my favourite isn't there, & I don't care who wins... But as above... If Ding had have won that frame v Lisowski, Or Judd or Ronnie played properly.....

yeah alot of top players will be regretting a missed opportunity to win the world champs

Incredible that Wilson or Jones will be a world champ, and Ding has never won it

Don't remind me

I have gone from thinking he would be a multiple world champion to thinking he will never get one, and now I'm a bit inbetween, but time is running out

So anyone get their tickets for next year's final..........

It's about £170-£180 for one session for the final - do folk think that is reasonable. Do you think pricing would come down for a bigger venue?

I appreciate it's the world final etc, but it just feels a touch steep for me

£170-180 for one session? deary me.

I've only been to the Crucibl once 6 years ago and it was a last 16 match. I got tickets to a morning session for £30 which wasn't too bad. I've not really been in a hurry to go back though to be honest.

I have been to the Masters final session, when Allen beat Wilson, and it was a mid double figure price. Also been to a couple of smaller final where it was relatively cheap.

Of course the WC final should attract a premium price, but any more than £100 seems too much for me, especially for what is 8 frames of snooker (or maybe less)

It's about time they accepted a new venue is required. I have grown up watching in the 80s and 90s, when the Crucible atmosphere was unique, but now it just looks old and dated.

Players are use to playing with noise from the other side, hell, some play with 6 or 8 tables in open play - for me, it's the fact that it's the WCs, the biggest tournament in the world, that causes the players to be jittery, know whats at stake, and that would be the case whereever they played it.

They can't make the Crucible itself bigger, so get a new venue, whether in Sheffield or elsewhere, but the WCs will always have a special feel to it regardless.

And if it is held in a 3000-5000 venue, perhaps the prices can come down. Snooker has a chance to live in a state-of-the-art venue, it's about time that was embraced

Strongly fancy Wilson - I think about 18-9 or 18-10

I see Jones has branded Trump and Bingham "pathetic" for saying that their game suffered playing against him.
I'd have thought that was a compliment if anything.
Odd remark.

Century for Kyren and he wins the opening frame. Good start from him.

I guess it's the context of 'their game suffered'. That's a slightly odd way to put it also.

If there's only going to be another couple there, then that might be a factor?

Well would you not just say that I didn't play very well and Jones took advantage. To say their game suffered almost suggests Jones did something 'not in the spirit of the game'.
Would they have made similar comments about a bigger name? I guess they would need to explain the 'suffered' context

Not sure the prices have changed that much for the final, I vaguely recall they have been around the £150+ mark previously......fleece everyone before it leaves

Going to miss most of this afternoon, but I can see it going 6-2 Wilson

Just saw Bingham's pathetic shot when he was 11-13 down and could've easily made it 12-13.

Shocking that he played such as shot at such a crucial stage and he never really played the same after that again.
