I just dont get why Tomi didnt play at all.
he must be carrying some injury, he was the perfect defender for a team like Bayern. I think we win by 2 or 3 with him, or at least dont concede either of the goals we did!
Given the hectic schedule (hopefully including 4 more CL games not just 1) there will be rotation over the next few weeks
Given his injury record I'm not sure Arteta trusts Tomi 100% at the moment. Same with Partey. They surely can't play 4 games in 9 days or whatever our schedule is.
This is where Arteta makes his money and makes or breaks our season.
When are we going to rest Odegaard and Kai
Their performance is falling away from exhaustion.
I say bring Jesus and ESR for the Villa game.
Zero chance that Odegaard gets resting v Villa
It depends on how you think Emery will set up without Douglas Luis. If you think he intends to park the bus, we need to go with Havertz in midfield and Jesus in attack. It would be good to rest Rice for Partey, but that depends on how far Partey is along with his sharpness. Zinny has to come in for Kiwior.
I don’t think they’ll be much rotation maybe 2/3 at best, something like tomi/ zinchenko coming in at LB, Trossard starting in place of Havertz/ Martinelli. Most teams that win leagues/CLs their best players start almost every game, especially during the run in. so can’t see likes of saka, odegaard, rice, white, Gabriel and Saliba getting much rest, only probably coming off if we’re comfortable. Don’t think partey fitness is up to scratch yet, but when it is we might see him rotate with rice and Jorginho more
We will definitely be fresher than Villa as they play in the conference league Thursday and have to travel.
That said Odegaard and Kai have played a lot of mins. We need them fresh to get anything from the Allianz Arena.
No rotation against Villa as we are then running the risk of losing points and will be prioritising the CL over the Prem which is risky.
Full throttle and play best 11 every week until the end of the season. If/when we are 3/4 nil up in games - that is the time to bring on squad players and rest the likes of Havertz, Ode and Rice NOT before,

As the stand Jenius, I reckon we stand a better chance of winning the EPL

I agree with that. Our defenders lack confidence against European attackers. They need more experience.
I hope Arteta also prioritises the Premier League.
Rodri has said he wants a rest. Very surprising to hear a player say this especially at this stage of the season

They won the treble last season and also played in the world club championship. Don't think our players are in that category.

So what, run Odegaard into the ground?
And you are brain dead if you think Havertz is sheet given his numbers for Arsenal this season.
Yes run him into the ground. There are 7 games to go in the league and in all likelihood, only 1 game left in Europe. Imagine throwing the title away because Odegaard might be a little tired. Genius logic
Odegaard has to play every minute that we're not seeing out games with a decent lead. We have nobody that can do what he does.
Agree The Skins and Bats over Odegaard. There is no way we can rest him.
Short term wise, it's just about managing the players playing every few days. The likes of Saliba, Gabriel, Rice, Havertz, Odegaard, probably White and possibly Saka are going to have to play a lot of minutes because we have about 6 or 7 players who cant play 90 minutes consistently.
Trossard could probably play more than he is but with 6 goals from the bench this season, I can understand the desire to utilise him from there but I'd start him up front vs Villa with Martinelli on the left (resting Jesus and moving Haverz back into mf as those guys sort or swap a lot anyway)
A lot depends on how you expect Villa to set up. If you think they are going to play a deep block, you can set up with Havertz as no.8 and Jesus as the striker, with Trossard wide. Basically how you finished against Bayern. Believe it or not, that is somewhat resting Havertz because he doesn't have to cover the same amount of ground as he does when playing false 9.
They are missing Kamara and Luiz so I think they'll just have McGinn so I kind of expect Emery to sit back and then release Watkins, Bailey and maybe Diaby in 3 on 3 counter attacks which is also why I like the idea of Rice at DM. We shall see though, Emery I'm sure will be desperate to spoil things for us though.
