Maybe a greater mind than mine can fathom this as I dont quite understand Fergie giving up on 3rd place....
Does he play a weakened team again v Bolton on Saturday knowing that Bolton could possibly overtake Derby....and he thinks he would stand a better chance in the playoffs v Derby than Bolton ??? I guess we'll find out on Saturday...but if we do get a positive result v Carlisle it will all of course be academic...or am I looking too deeply into the situation. Fergie does like his mind games though doesn't he....Cheers. Terry in Spain 🇪🇸
I fail to understand the logic of posh not going for bust on Tuesday. They were safely in the playoffs what did they have to lose. A win by 5 goals against Cheltenham was always possible and then a good win against Bolton and we slip up and he’s there. Can’t see that they will finish anywhere except 4th. It also means Bolton’s chances of a win have improved as Posh are playing for nothing. I think it’s simple mind games from junior. Only thing worrying me is if we have a crazy day on Saturday and lose to the bottom club on our own ground. Memories of past disasters keep springing to mind. I won’t say surely it can’t happen again as I know it can. Having ruthlessly mocked Forest fans when they lost their last game which they could afford to lose by 2 goals and reach the playoffs but managed to lose by 3. Also our 2015, 0 3 to Reading keeps cropping up in my thoughts.
Saturday:
Derby 0-2 Carlisle
Bolton 3-0 Peteborough
THATS what Peterborough want
