CL winner and just got Bayern into a very winnable semi final v Madrid who were very poor against City and fortunate to get through the tie.
Our manager couldn't get past Copenhagen and Galatasaray pal.
Beggars can't be choosers. I'd much rather have Tuchel than this plank we currently have.
Fack no he’s crap.
Arise sir Gareth.
There’s no ‘should’. Must say if I was a United fan I’d be a bit underwhelmed by the Tuchel idea. On the other hand who else is there that is credible and available? No obvious candidates I can think of.

Klopp. Offer him Rashford’s wages and a £100m signing bonus

Hence my beggars can't be choosers comment.
Southgate? Pass
Potter? Pass
Amorim? Yes but I fear he's been snapped up already
Zidane? Won't happen. English is awful too.
De Zerbi? Not right for us. We'd need 20 new players.
I'd say for a team that looks a shoe in for the conference league now at best then Tuchel is probably better than what we deserve personally.
One thing is for sure IMO, he's better than Ten Hag. Perhaps he can even pull off a league win when Pep and Klopp are gone, but that's ignoring the fact that for some reason nothing you do seems to work well in the long term at your club tbh.
Ratcliffe hasn’t got Brailsford involved, and appointed Berrada, Ashworth (eventually) and Wilcox, only to go and select a new manager himself.
I don't feel that Tuchel would be a terrible choice, if it was to happen, as I would take any media reports with a pinch of salt.
But he knows the EPL and will be keen to bounce back from his spell at Bayern.
And if nothing else, he has a strong personality, which is required in this job.
I can honestly say that whoever comes in, I will back him and give him a fair chance, because you just don't know until a person is in the job
Long term plans for managers are pipedreams anyway. Barca Madrid and Bayern don't give people 4/5 years.
The amount of managers who last 8/9 years plus at one club is such a small number.
The back of house needs to be for the long term. That's where we've gone wring. The manager should be there
to get results.

Totally agree with this - SAF, Wenger, Pep and Klopp. 4 managers out of how many that have been with their clubs for a significant number of years. It is such a rare thing, and I think we have become too obssessed with finding the next Busby / Fergie etc - the game has changed but we don't seem to have.
Why do the press get away with this utter nonsense?
Tuchel is well known for wanting autonomy and kicking off when he doesn’t get it, so how would he fit into Jim’s new structure?

It hasn't been reported he's said yes. It's being reported he's been contacted hasn't it? That's all at this stage.
I'd be amazed if we didn't. Tuchel is better than what we deserve quite frankly. We are heading for the conference league and he's a CL winner and in another winnable semi final.
United are in an enviable position, in that they literally can't do any worse than the bald fraud.
Mark Robins could set you up better.
Two possibilities here:
1) INEOS meant want they said about being process driven and recruiting best of class football administrators/recruitment/data professionals to make the coherent, well informed decisions. Ratcliffe and Brailsford are therefore not unilaterally choosing the next coach. Media stories about these things are baseless gossip, and if communications do happen, it's more in the context of trying to build background relationships and credibility among the sport's senior figures in order to restore the club's reputation as a serious operation.
2) INEOS talked the talk but Ratcliffe has succumbed to the billionaire ego trap and can't resist getting involved in areas beyond his expertise.
The second is possible, and would be a worrying development if it proved to be the case. But I don't see any concrete evidence of this yet.

--------------
Right now, all United need is a new manager/coach who will work with the players on a daily basis and can discipline and organise 11 players on the pitch to match and compete at the same levels with other organised teams in their own division (ie The Premier League) which will involve transferring tactics and instructions, and able to inplement changes before during and between games... and to stop wasting the time, efforts, money and loyalty of the ranks of loyal supporters who turn out each week to follow them all from over the country, home and away.

Not really sure why you think that's funny tbh. Long gone are the days when the top 3/4 coaches in Europe would fall over each other to get the United job.
Tuchel is a good coach and quite frankly a club in the state ours is currently in would be quite fortunate to get a recent CL winner to take over this mess.
Who do you honestly think we could get? Give me some names who are better.

As I thought.....you can't answer the question.
If you think we can do better than Tuchel then name some people who we could realistically get.
If you think we are better off with ETH then you need to take up a new hobby.
Tuchel is suddenly a crap manager now because Leverkusen have thrown in a perfect season where they haven't lost one single football match? No is the answer you're looking for.
Ideal coach to take over from ETH - depends on the job description. If we don't have a long-term vision in place, it's essentially an interim stabilisation job, with the possibility of staying on if the profile fits the vision once that's set down. In that case, we probably want someone to mainly address basics and work on the psychology. Maybe it makes more sense for that to be an internal appointment / caretaker manager. Are we going to attract a world-class manager when we don't have a fully formed strategy in place?
