Aussieglue is doing quite well with what he's got.
The real problem, as everyone knows, is ENIC/Levy.
The squad needs a stronger midfield.Which is why we're after Gallegher.
If we can solve the midfield and get a really good striker we may have a competitive team next season.
Oh yes, and Aussieglue has got to start learning about DEFENCE.
I am expecting a new LB to rotate with Udogie. Another 6 someone like Onana. Another 8, Gallagher. And another striker, someone like Muniz. Then we can reevaluate where we are at come Christmas. This season was always about rebuilding. Next season hopefully Ange can show he has more strings to his bow than some are currently giving him credit for.
Seems silly not to back Ange even if you think there's half a chance we'll sack him at Christmas.. the new signings have all worked and anything he'll want will benefit the next manager.. assuming we don't go for another Mourinho.
The defensive set piece coach should be a club signing, though. Whether he likes it or not, Jedinak has to go
Getting Harry back would certainly help Ange's future at Spurs.
He's good at defending corners tbf

His arrogance is all the more irritating when he’s not winning matches. I like managers to be humble enough to know the areas they need to work on, not blindly repeating the same mistakes because he’s so headstrong regarding his philosophy. A good manager recognises where changes need to be made. I’m so sick of us just turning up and routinely conceding 2/3 goals a game.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah I’m really not a fan of his arrogance either.
In answer to the OP, yes Levy will back him, he gets another season for delivering Europe.
I don't think it's arrogant of him to stick to his approach considering that's why he was hired and his track record in the game. All the top managers have a clearly defined style that they stick to. In fact I'd say most managers do. We saw with Nuno what happens when a manager is forced to do something that's not what he knows.
All that said, if we're to win silverware he's going to have to get cuter in the big one off games. Gallant defeat in Europe is ok for Celtic..
But it is arrogant to stick to something when it isn’t working.
What do you mean not working?

We may not even make europe. I see us getting whacked against Chelsea and Liverpool.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Do you even follow our games or results?
Of course I do. I was genuinely curious what you meant by it, though. I want to understand because obviously with any manager we're going to lose some games, win others. I mean, there's standout games like the Chelsea and Newcastle results you can absolutely blame on his stubbornness.
But then there's so many times when the football has worked (I mean, we didn't get outplayed by Arsenal or City this season despite the results). The 10 games unbeaten, so many goals that have come as a direct result of us winning the ball back high.. the fact we're 5th despite losing Kane and not properly replacing him..
Obviously more is working than it isn't. And even if you disagree with all that, and reckon we should be 20 points better off or whatever, you must be able to see the players believe in what they're doing. They didn't take a beat or look lost even at 3-0 down against the g00ns. If it was really just some dumb arrogance on Ange's part, I think we'd be seeing that reflected on the pitch.
Thank you for reading my Ted talk
Also, it's kind of depressing to have to explain to someone who often gatekeeps what being a fan is, that we should support our manager
So you’re not concerned that we’re shipping 3/4 goals in a game? Everything is working just fine? Is it just part of “the process’ ?
More is working than it isn't, yeah. I stand by that. Obviously everything isn't perfect. Set pieces being a huge and very obvious issue. But I don't think it's mad to suggest without that awful injury/AFCON/Asian Cup period we'd be in the top 4.
Do you really think everything is going badly and if we hired De Zerbi or got Poch back we wouldn't go through exactly the same?

Fine, so don’t change anything, let’s see how that pans out.
Or insert any manager there, maybe even Pep..
Seriously, tho. What do you think the exact issue is and how would you address it?
Don’t they say the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results?
That’s Ange that is.
That's what Arteta did. Weren't they like 16th or something at Christmas in his first season? You'd have literally set him on fire
Although that comment is unintentionally very funny, Sizzle. Considering you low key want Poch back

Well right now, I’d quite like our current manager to hire a defensive coach who at least knows how to defend set pieces, or is that too much to ask?
Yeah I agree he needs to do that
And didn’t Ange say he doesn’t bother with set piece training? Is it all a bit beneath him?
Like the domestic cups are?
