Goldson uses two hands to block stuff but this is totally a red
----------------------------------------------------------------------
A ball hitting your hands because you can't control the way you jump to head a ball is quite different to putting your arm out when you are behind the goalkeeper. I didn't think it was a red though
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Agreed
Penalty - yes
Red card - absolutely not
----------------------------------------------------------------------
100%. A red card for a hand ball should be for instances like Suarez during the world cup

It's definitely led to referees getting more decisions wrong in real time, which absolutely should not have been the intent of the system.

It looks like refs aren't calling fouls in the hope that if the attacking team score then var will pick it up. It allows for too much ambiguity

The worst thing var has done is completely ruin the match day experience. At least at home you can hear and understand why something is going on. You can't celebrate any goal
The best refereed sport is ice hockey. Refs call the obvious fouls but if you do something snide then you are likely to get punched in the face or checked hard enough that you'll reevaluate your decision

I was thinking earlier imagine having a front 3 of Silva cantwell and morelos going into a title deciding old firm match at celtic park. 2 out of 3 are getting sent off or doing something insane or winning the game 3-0

The three of them have Main Character syndrome, it's always just about them. This match next week is going to have it all. There will be at least one red card, maybe two and loads of yellows.
Cantwell will want the headlines and go in hard with McGregor. Silva will obviously dive about like a ffanny. Can even see another two pens in the one match.
It'll end 4-2 to Celtic.

That game yesterday was our best 90 minutes since, well, I can't remember, as it's been that long ago.
Hopefully we've got our spark back, and it's everyone firing on all cylinders for the home stretch.
Who's the ref next week? Please don't tell me it's cheatin Beaton
Philippe Clement accused Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers of disrespecting his Rangers side with his "can have a bit of fun" comment ahead of next week's Old Firm game at Parkhead.
The Gers boss was speaking after the 4-1 home win over Kilmarnock which returned the Light Blues to within three points of their city rivals with three fixtures remaining.
After Celtic's convincing 3-0 win over Hearts at Parkhead on Saturday, Rodgers looked ahead to the visit of Rangers and said: "We can have a bit of fun."
Clement was not impressed.
"That it is something that I would never say about an opponent," said the Light Blues boss, who confirmed centre-back Leon Balogun went off at half-time with an injury which will be assessed in the next few days.
"But okay, we will see. It's not really respectful towards my team. That is what I think. So I will never say things like that about an opponent.
"I am looking forward to that (game) and to be honest as a manager I would love that it was tomorrow instead of next week - but that is maybe not so good for my players.
"We are really hungry for that game. Six months ago we were seven points behind and now we are three points behind and we can go equal. The team has already done a lot of steps and now it is about making the next step."
