If I played for the Gers I wouldn't give two fcuks who was the manager - I would run my heart out for the Teddies...

and for me that was what the captain wanted to do.
If one man was taking the club in the wrong direction though would you step up.... show him up.... get rid before he can damage the club more....
Im not sure how wer got to this but if you want the best for the club you have to make a stand and the Captain did this.... right or wrong he bleeds blue..

Maybe but he acted like a petulant child - ge exacerbated a bad situation instead of making better.
Meanwhile we were forking out whilst he was having a tantrum.
If PLG was gonna fail he would have failed on his own.
Ferguson - great player, never a Leader.
Couldnt lace Davy Weir's boots in that respect...

HE DID WHAT NEEDED DONE HE COULD HAVE SAT BACK PICKED UP HIS MONEY BUT HE WOULDNT SEE US GO ANY FURTHER DOWN HILL

SEE ABOVE SHOULD HE JUST HAVE LET PLG GET ON WITH DESTROYING US?

He sat back on the park.
He's a professional - what professional do you know who 'phones it in' when he's in the huff?
£500 taxi rides with Boozy McFire; childish 'v' signs, etc
Captain my 'chorus and verse'...
Cant deny he did get too big for his boots but he was for a very long time Rangers.
He made a stand do you consider where we would be if he hadnt.
PLG gets the season Walter does not come in.....
where would we be?
He made a stand do you consider where we would be if he hadnt.
---------------------
I heard he did the 'him or me' behind the scenes - I can understand that..
For the life of me I cannot understand why a professional would not still give it 100% on the park...

when on the park he did.
the manager was scr*wing up big time.
he was in the best position to see that.
the Captain was Rangers his action were for Rangers.
the result = we got rid of a dud before he put us down even further and we might never have recovered.
we should be thanking the Captain.

I think we'll need to agree to disagree on that one..
The Frenchman Jeremy Clement who had just arrived in Scotland was grafting harder.
he had him playing a role he new wasnt the best for the team he had us playing a formation not suited to our league.
Clement was the best of a very bad bunch and I include Sasa at center back in that.
Would you not however agree that PLG had to go and if the actions of the Captain brought that forward then good.
And Rangers know how to eliminate diddy teams in the SPL

We'll never know for sure what might have happened.
The monster munch crew took against him right away because he had the audacity to ask them to train in the afternoon and they couldn't handle it - pretty poor considering their wages at the time.
Just before Ferguson left - he missed the last six games. We won them all, it was the first time we had won six league games in a row.
I found that statistic quite interesting...

GEEEZE MATE
You had me wondering there I thought you were on about PLG he never won 6 games in a row ever.
This was before The Captain left for Brum....
We did finish the season strongly
We do that, we are The Rangers....
Cheers for the debate Duke..
I did change my mind a bit about him when one of the old boys who do the tours at Ibrox told me about the 'him or me' conversation.
Plus I always wonder about what happened to Karl Svensson - our equivalent of big Maj.
Onwards to 4!
Night
aye cheers deBear.
i need to google Karl before bed though
debear
you sound remarkably like a demented timm again
monster munch mob, about rangers players, a complete myth perpetrated by rangers haters
i need to google Karl before bed though

Noooooo - don't do it.
I'm gonna have nightmares as it is......
We'll never know for sure what might have happened.

What's the prob? Some people having a reasonable debate without resorting to name calling and insults holding a mirror up.
FYI - I only used them term as a shortcut for the individuals involved.
I don't believe any stories about monster munch any more than I believe the usual 'rumour guy' stuff you hear at every game eg. Lovenkrands has already signed.
Heard that belter before the QOS Cup final
Why so angry anyway?

Mark Hateley was talking about it at a speaker night I was at.
Would trust his words over a Keevins, etc.
You should have heard what he said about Marseille...
