I'd probably go with Konate for us. When he's at his best he's a beast but those spells are few and far between, often clumsy and we give up tons of chances with him in the side. Also very injury prone.

Partey or Jesus. Both are talked about in the media and by some fans as if they are elite players but they are average at best, and usually much worse than that
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Partey isnt average, very good player if not Rice/Odegaard level when fit. Super all rounder - strong, quick for a bigger guy, good at passing, tackling, heading and shooting. Basically a mix of Rice&Odegaard whilst not excelling at anything like they do at each end of the spectrum.

if the argument for Romero being overrated is the number of goals we concede then surely VDV is overrated too
----------------------------------------------------------------------
almost certainly, especially amongst liverpool fans.
Liverpool have been roasted at the back for years now and give up very high level goal opportunities (think mateta for palace) but somehow get away with it, with allison brilliance and a bit of luck

Mainoo probably. Talented very bright future but hasn’t been as good as made out. More because he’s a bright spot in a dark season. He’ll probably earn that though
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Does seem to make a mistake every time I watch him, but yeah clearly got talent and super young

I’ve no doubt he’s got a great future.

Partey is surprisingly decent given how often he's out with lengthy injuries, that's his main issue really.
Not sure he's overrated, he's a quality first team / squad player bar injury.
Hard to say who our overrated players are, think we're generally seen and are a team with everyone playing their part even if they're quite different in quality.
Darwin Nunez is probably the most overrated player by a sides own fans. I was swayed by Liverpool supporters insistence that he was actually a great team player, agent of chaos etc but he's just a bit shiiiiite. Even within their squad Jota, fitness permitting is a fair bit ahead in quality and Nunez has a lot to prove (he could well improve btw, just think he's overrated at the moment).

Fair points but it has to be Diaz this year surely. Productivity is far behind every other forward at the club.
Konate is an absolute monster when in form but his injuries and consistency is poor. The variance between his good games and poor ones is huge too theres not much inbetween hes either a monster or way off it looking sunday league. I do think we see more good than bad including this season but when you factor in the games he misses with interrupting little injuries and its frustrating.
Diaz is a few years older so i'd give it him.
Not sure many of our players currently get overrated. Maybe Maguire this season. He’s been competent but it’s not the redemption some make it out to be.
Last season Casemiro. Good for a few months but many of his flaws were still highly evident like losing the ball and getting skinned one on one.

hes a goal involvement every 97 mins this season not far off salahs 91 and jotas 92. Diaz is 250 mins or sumin. Everyone knows what he needs to i mprove on and hes still pretty young. Wouldnt say hes overrated either just liked and appreciated by the fans especially the anfield crowd.
Jesus and Zinchenko have definitely been found out in Arsenals team.

i rate the lad got a big future but definitely been overrated.
another one would be martinez for utd for me, i think he got overrated cause people expected him to be found out more than he was. I felt he got away with some red cards myself in that season too and this season hes been poor whenever ive seen him and i feel injuries have probably saved him somewhat.

Yes I don’t agree with him being on that list. Hasn’t played enough.
I think he’s a massive talent and already our best CM (not saying much) but he’s been asked to do too much with no support in midfield which is why he’s struggling a bit.
Prime Xavi would struggle in our midfield imo.

I partially agree. Very good ball player but has flaws defensively.
I find it hard to look past Rashford, the hype, expectations, wages. Surely that's the easiest. Being disappointed in your ratings of an 18 year old seems to be an oxymoron.
I know I'm going to get pelters for this, but I'm saying Varane.
I just don't think he's been anything like the calm, assured, experienced defender we wanted him to be.
That, and he's very injury prone, even by the standards of a United player.
These days I feel happier when Maguire is in the side than Varane.
