Casemiro is a world class DM when defending in tight spaces and engaging opposition players at close quarters. But if we want him to marshal huge areas of space and cover ground quickly… no chance. I’ve said it before, but prime Kante, Keane or Gattuso would find it impossible to put out fires when one half of their team is high up the pitch and not pressing effectively, and the other half of his team are dropping deep preemptively. No team plays like this. Defending is about closing off the spaces, being hard to play through and being disciplined within that structure. In a team that can actually defend properly, we’d still be seeing a hell of lot more of Casemiro’s best qualities.

Yes but an extra midfielder and new structure will sort all that.

I'd probably be looking at getting rid of all of our top earners, so Casemiro, Rashford, Varane, possibly Sancho although I'd sooner be shot of Antony than I would him, plus Martial who's out of contract anyway.

Outside of that if we can get rid of a few more that would be a bonus.

Shaw, Maguire, Lindelof, Rashford, Antony.

For my list Ive put down mostly players who are just injury prone. I appreciate Shaw should be on my list too but I like the player, he usually performs well when he's available (unlike Lindelof & Martial)

whilst Shaw is fit hes usually one of Uniteds best attcking options. If you were listing sicknotes then Martinez would also be top of the must sell list. However som pof the walking wounded are at the moment too good to sell compared to some of the others
