I thought we did well considering the injuries we had, the thin squad we had prior to Jan transfer window for big chunk of the time, and also the deadwoods we carried and still carry around (Davies, Skipp, Hobby etc)
It took 4 season for Klopp to see his changes come to fruition, and same with Farteta.
It was obvious to see at times yesterday, we actually outplayed City and for our wayward finishing, could have had 2-3 goals.
OP, your reaction is one of disappointment but why You are disappointed losing to the champions elect? There squad have been playing together for years, compare that to VdV playing his first PL season, some other players their 2nd season etc
To build a winning team takes a few more years.
It sounds like Ange may change a few personnel and change some tactics.
Whatever he does, we should stick with him and not throw our toys without giving him a fair crack at the whip.
I think he’s done a great job in his first season. Two things I don’t understand. First was the Carabo cup. When you haven’t won a trophy for years you can’t be picky choosy. The other is his peevish attitude to the media. Shortsighted imo. If he facks up from here on they will take delight in crucifying him.
After Anges comments this week, it appears he sees himself as having this kind of ultimate winners mentality- “I just wanna win mate"

As a Spurs fan, I have to agree with this. Our fan base is full of weapons of idiocy.
Ange’s behaviour yesterday was almost as absurd as the “pro City” Spurs fans.
What a toxic evening.

Maybe if his “winners mentality” translated to the pitch?
Fans in general (not just Spurs fans) can be remarkably myopic at times.
Fans will need to judge Ange at the end of his second season (not after his first). He's not a miracle worker and change takes time.
I know that some don't want to hear this, but we lost Kane on the eve of the season starting and he was not replaced. Obviously you can't get another Kane, but at least sign a proven striker. Ange was on a hiding to nothing after that. The fact that we were even in with a sniff of 4th place with two games to go was remarkable.
I was one of those that did not want to hand Arsenal the title under any circumstances yesterday, but I understand Ange's frustration with fans that think this way.
The way I see it it, last night is now out of the way and we can move forward. Hopefully next season it's all about what we can win, rather than what we can do to stop others.
As a Spurs supporter for 65+ years I was absolutely disgusted last night, not at the players or manager as I believe they genuinely tried to win the game but at the so called Spurs supporters this was absolutely vile to want your team to loose, its just beyond comprehension to me and I'm sure to others of my generation, this new wave of so called supporters need to have a serious look at them selves.

What, we are supposed to win games 🤣
Lots of faux outrage from non Spurs supporters today.
Fair play to the manager/players who tried all they could but were beaten by the better team.
As for the supporters, it was exactly as I expected. This "could have still qualified for the CL" talk is a,load of bollox as anybody who's seen our performances since the 1-4 Chelsea debacle knows we'd go the same way as Newcastle and Man Utd.
We are much better off in the Europa where hopefully we can blood some of these great youngsters we keep hearing about and go deep.
Ange is frustrated but I don't think he'll walk as I reckon he likes a challenge.
I stayed away from this site for a while as I couldn't understand some if not most of the idiotic comments on here. Coming back, briefly I can only see it has got worse.
Ange is the best thing we have had since Poch.
We can be fickle, but he has a plan and will stick to it. Some idiots saying he has no plan B, he needs to change tactics, do they know anything about football?
Just look at Pep / Arteta / Klopp. In their first season they were getting pelters from all and sundry when they were losing matches, but they never wavered, the manager needed to install their methodology so it was automatic to the players, if they didn't buy in to it they were out.
Only when they could see everyone was playing the way they wanted could they start to tinker with tactics mid game.
We are still at this stage, also we don't have a recent history of success so it is going to be an even longer and harder road to change the team and club. If we don't trust the process what's the point? Another manager in 6 months?
Be careful what you wish for, sacking Poch and hiring 'superstars' left us in this mess let's not repeat the mistake.
3 places up from last year, in spite of losing a world class striker.
need to be realistic, where did fans expect to finish at the start of the season?

Isn't this a massive non-story really? I mean, it's fine for him to have a winning mentality and not be happy with the atmosphere yesterday, it's fine for the players to be professional and competitive with a real desire to win, and it's also fine for fans to not really care all that much about losing given the circumstances. What Ange hasn't realised is that really we had to win that game to see any tangible benefit so going 1-0 down meant that in order to get in the CL, we needed to get at least 2. We all knew that wasn't going to happen so if the fans want to use that moment to laugh at Arsenal, so be it.
The thing is, you can't really whine too much about club/fan mentality because it's results on the pitch that change it. Under Poch we competed at the very top. We didn't care about Arsenal or anyone else. We were just focused on winning games. So ultimately it's down to Ange and the players to produce the goods, pick up the points and give us something to play for at the end of the season to avoid this situation again.
For what it's worth, I wanted us to win but I certainly don't hold anything against those that chose to support City. Win more games to make our success the priority, not others' failures. In short, it's on Ange, not the fans.
