Nah but I think maybe more cb type full backs like city and arsenal have on one side and udogie and Porro on the other could be the way forward
It ain't going to happen but also its not an approach taken by many, if any of the top teams.
For me it is not about how many men are left defending, its about positioning and protection of them and in particular how we hunt the ball down when it's lost.
City hand Kovacic and Rodri yesterday. 2 very effective 'screens' but neither particularly fast or mobile, but their positioning is often exemplary
Too often this season, on the turn over, our CMs are out of the game through poor positioning and easily bypassed. Where the FBs are also so advanced, we are truly exposed.
Tweaking in both these areas will see us far more solid IMO, at least in the transition against us.
We certainly need a proper forward to give us new options in attack, an out ball, a runner in the channel, some hold/link up play.
Quite often this season we have faffed around on the edge of the box, with few options but lots of little passes going nowhere etc lost the ball and been exposed.
I felt we stopped City quite effectively last night through the middle (except for the Walker outball which happened a lot 1st half) due to good play from the CMs, closing space, energetic pressing, little fouls, protecting the backline which was not exposed too often.
So for me, more small adaptations and refining of our current system, with better discipline and 2 or 3 new players, and i would hope we can improve our solidity and our attack.
We do need our own Rodri
Obviously everyone does as he’s the best at that position but someone who can offer physical presence, cover lots of ground and is also big improvement on the ball
Tbh....I think there is every chance we'll have a new manager come the start of next season.
Villa play flat back 4? Konsa has been playing full back a lot, but it is usually Cash/Digne with Torres and Carlos at cb.
In fact think the only time they went 3 at the back was when they got thrashed by your lot.
Not sure Palace play it by design either tbh. 2 of their "cbs" are full backs and they have only done it cos Guehi is out. Although obviously they have had a new manager. Richards often plays in midfield.

If Levy doesn't back him this summer, having sold Kane you wouldn't blame him if he walked. Its bad enough that ENIC puts profit before winning, now half the fan base seems more concerned about Arsenal than us winning or progressing... Sad to say but we are a bit of joke

This needs to stop now.
Arsenal fans said in 2019 that they'd rather lose the Europa Final than see us win the CL. Back in '95, Liverpool fans, yes, those fans with the ultimate winning mentality, wanted to throw the game to stop United winning the title to Blackburn. All fans are exactly the same under rival circumstances so we need to stop dressing this up as some sort of unique 'Spursy' characteristic.
I wanted us to win last night but only because CL was on offer. The moment they scored first making it an absolute mountain to climb to get the 3 points needed, I stopped caring and laughed at some of the songs being sung. Apathy sets in when you no longer have anything riding on a situation. If we're in this position it's because the manager and the players didn't do enough between November and now to keep the fans interested.
I'm just getting really annoyed that we're being accused of being the only fan base that have ever done this, least of all by one of our own.

Don't think or want him sacked. And it might be just the heat of the moment but he was clearly taking aim at the whole club, top to bottom.
Ange will probably walk in the summer when Levy buys him Henderson for midfield and Nicholas Jackson for striker

Well it's worth reminding him that his beloved Liverpool, yes, that same club with the ultimate winning mentality fostered by a dominant history, wanted to throw the game against Blackburn in '95 to stop United winning the league.
Ange clearly needs a history lesson because there's nothing unique about Spurs fans. We're all the same when it comes to arch rivals. Once they scored, the win was out of reach for us, as was the CL, so why not laud it over Arsenal?

He was certainly having a pop at fans and some players.
Between that, its not clear whether this criticism is also being levelled at Levy and the clubs willingness to spend. Some will reach that conclusion, and it may be right. The summer window will tell us.
But Ange has been saying for a while now that we've been working on our summer plans for a time and that they are unaffected by UCL or EL qualification. That at least implies he's onboard with whatever plans we have.
I do think this interview is a little bit of a come back at recent criticism. I have rarely seen him so annoyed and animated on the touchlines and then this interview....its a bit like he's pushing back on the criticism of his management style/ability.
What i like is that he is clearly very frustrated that players are making error. He seems very demanding of them and increasingly annoyed that mistakes are continuing to happen.
What is worrying about that is that players do not always respond well to demanding coaches becoming critical, and unless you are Pep or Klopp, you know that mistakes usually cost the manager their job while you keep playing/picking up your wages.
