Thoughts from tonight

That is Leeds at our best. If we repeat that performance next week, no-one will be able to live with us. Let’s bury this Wembley hoodoo once and for all!

What a result. 10/10 performance. Ref superb and calm throughout.

Can’t wait for final.

Excellent team performance, high tempo and chasing down the opposition pre international break form.

We play like that next week we win, simple as that

It was 2-0 when Meslier made that save but other than that I agree with everything.

What a night! I can’t remember an atmosphere like tonight.

Meslier's save was at 2-0, but all the same it would have been harsh to be pegged back at that stage. Great save so it was...meanwhile Angus Gunn was having a nightmare, his Dad Bryan lived not far from us in Invergordon so I've always had an interest in his career, HighlandWhite may have known the family too. The Wembley pitch should suit our players, should be acres of space for our front line.

Apart from Sargent's golden chance which Meslier dealt with brilliantly on 25 mins stopping them getting back in the game at 2-1 and possibly changing the momentum of the match, we'll never know but apart from that Norwich didn't lay a glove on Leeds tonight which was a
joy to behold....Great Leeds United memories made tonight.

Don't mean to be picky but didn't the Sargant chance come after Piroe's goal? You make it sound like Norwich had a chance to level it.

Beat me to it Stoopo.

Thought Kamara and Piroe played their best when it mattered.

Firpo was close to MOTM.

Rutter was frightening tonight.

Main thing is both WBA and Soton will be concerned now.

Yeah I’m delighted with that performance, no complaints whatsoever. 👍
The ER crowd were immense right from the off.
If we can repeat that on the 26th we’re up. However I’m not popping any corks just yet🍾

Everyone makes the same point Jonty sorry.

Isn't it about time that the Firpo haters admitted just how wrong they are about the guy.
Yes he struggled for fitness and yes he has a mistake or two in him.
But now he rarely misses a minute and he gives us so much.
Without Firpo is Summerville half the player he is?
At this level. I love him.

Watched the game on my Laptop and the sound wasn't exactly what it should be!..

But I have a question, towards the end were they singing Patrick Bamford is tish or was my sound worst than I'm making out?..

posted on 16/5/24

Should have added Archie was imperious, Meslier save world class and Gruev played a blinder.

All I heard, watching on TV, was”Ashley Barnes is s**t which the crowd sang for quite some time.

Don’t forget Gruev. Apart from his goal he was immense in the centre. Hardly put a foot wrong.

Only disappointment tonight was James when he came on. Did ok in some things but his dead balls were awful.

But that’s being picky on a night when we could easily have won that game 8 nil.

I’m still calming down with a cold beer. My ears are ringing as well!

That’s what they were singing.

Quite funny as he always seems to score against us.

Thought he was fantastic tonight.

Honestly though, he's had a run of games now where
he's looked good. And yes, I've said many times I don't
think he's a good defender. I'm changing my mind.

He looks good on the ball and his understanding with
Cree is outstanding.

Tonight though, like everyone's said, belongs to the
entire team and Farke. Massive performance under
what must've been the most pressure in the Champ.

Whoever we face at Wembley, play like we can and
we're going up. Great night. Buzzing.

Missed the game as I'm in Italy and the bar staff couldn't get it on much to the disappointment of the handful of people in wanting to watch it. Doesn't matter as we won and were 1 game from getting out of this mickey mouse league. Norwich arent great and we'll need to play that well again in the final imo.

Morning all🌞 and what a morning … for reasons that are unimportant I’ve just literally discovered the result in the last 10 minutes … gonna be one heck of a day😁🌞

Yes, save was when we were 2-0 up, calm down everyone!

I wouldn't say Firpo is great defensively but he is really effective going forwards.

Obviously a league below where he was really poor, m maybe a year of confidence under his belt might see him hold his own in Prem when we get there.

Gruev looked much better tonight, nit just the goal but much more involved and effective, they all were, the whole team were.

Farke's job is to make that happen.

Apart from Bamford and Byram we're injury free a day extra rest and although I'm not a believer in "we deserve this" etc......when we finally won promotion a couple of seasons ago, no one could go watch it.

This might be the most poetic of justice and one likes to think that in Rosario a man sitting in a coffee shop might raise an espresso to the team.

Nice👍.

Firpo still poor defensively, in general. But been excellent in a what has been a very standard of quality league, bar 3 teams.

If we go up, we have to get left back sorted. If quite like him as a winger, seems to be excellent in the opposing box.

That byram injury did us a huge favour last night. Absolutely buzzing.
