you really should be sacking him

OK, you've flipped, don't flop back, 52! 😂 ETH gets one more season under the new structure. Time to prove the doubters wrong, ETH, and repay the faith others have placed on him.

But he did well in the league last season, reached two finals, winning one, and even this season reaching another final.

Just shows hes a good cup manager. And a lucky one showing our performance in the Semi-Final at Wembley.

A sensible team will cut their losses. Sadly we do not have a reputation of being sensible.

How can you talk about "sensible" when we've been run by morons? You need to open your eyes and realise ETH has had nothing like the structure or guidance to put together a team.

If under a proper professional structure with good recruitment leads to a style familiar with the way an ETH team plays then it would have been worth it, if it gets even worse, I doubt it can, then I hope we cut our losses. But at this early stage of the structure's tenure they really could do without a disruption a managerial change will cause. Maybe in time ETH may not be the answer, we'll see but not now.

The sensible thing is create an environment for everyone to flourish from top down.

Once we probably get well beaten in the final you’ll be Ten Hag out again. It’s been a record breaking awful season and there’s absolutely no indication he has a plan in place next season to improve us. It’s time he moved on and the Ineos regime start afresh together with a new manager in place.

……..

Let’s just look at these two paragraphs here that highlight what an utter imbecile the person who wrote them is.

Paragraph one - He has proved to be a very good league manager at his previous club so the cup manager jibe was ill informed. Then highlighting one poor performance in our cup runs. Just stupid.

Paragraph two - We have cut our losses with Moyes, LVG, Jose and Ole in the space of ten years.

He did well in the league last season because rashford was on fire and covered the cracks and because rivals were in disarray. That said, if there is no available better alternative might not be the worst interim plan. His signings have been largely poor, calamity goalkeeper who dosent look in any way better than the one he replaced, Antony… Hojlund I have hope for.

Ronaldo was, and is, past it. The Greenwood debacle was down to Greewood. Anthony isn’t good enough. But wtf did you do to Sancho?

Just tell the truth that it's been a difficult season for a variety of reasons instead of this nonsense. He doesn't help himself at all.

Hes got to talk himself up. If he doesnt who will. Hes fighting for his job which clearly he wants to retain.

He does keep talking about 'us all knowing the reasons why United have regressed this season' without actually telling us what they are specifically, citing the injury problems and 'a few pivitol decisions going against us'. Go on Erik, what are these decisions and who made them?

This leaves us fans and supporters to speculate on internet pages like this. The only insight he offers to why things are better now than last summer and will be next season is that we have more high-quality young players in the squad this season plus we still have some very good existing experience players. So together next season is going to turn out great.

Errrr, OK then Erik. If you say so.

Its a pretty damning article on the last 12 months at United under TH.

Listen to yourself. Every league manager at an obviously lower level is now capable of taking a step to the most difficult team to manage in England?

Secondly, you should know of sunk costs and how throwing bad money after good compounds your failure. The only manager I would have given a second chance is Ole and maybe Van Gaal. But in every case, we needed a better DOF which still don't have. DOF chooses the manager, not the manager choosing the DOF. If Ineos are serious, thats how they start.

I appreciate he has to defend himself. I am fed up with the injury excuse - yes it hasn't been great, but it cannot excuse everything.

It can't explain how we still have no clear style of play, how this does not look like a team together, so many poor performances - I honestly feel that win or lose, we have been outplayed in 75% of games, giving up chances like sweeties.

It just feels like he's out of his depth, no shame in that, 99% of managers probably would be, but he doesn't seem to have the people skills for his squad to be truly fighting for him. So many underperforming players - we all know the players should take more responsibility, but football management has never worked like that, the buck stops with ETH.

There could be circumstances where we were outside the top 4 and genuine progress had been made elsewhere, but even the positives haven't been overwhelming - Mainoo, Hojlund and Garnacho have been bright sparks, but by no mean the finished articles, and apart from Bruno, who's been decent, team performances have generally been below average. I don't see the progress there.

There has been no general improvement as the season has come to a close, which you would expect.

I really do believe that we have fallen so far, that we see as crumbs of progress / success, really aren't, just as our expectations have become so low.

Just finally, even a miraculous FA Cup win next weekend wouldn't change anything - EPL is bread and butter and a true reflection of where we are

Onana is a prime example - he has been so bad at the start of the season, that what improvement he has shown, in the atmosphere of such a poor season, means we cling onto the fact that he has improved etc. He is still not great, but it says so much about other issues that he is less of a priority

I accept that any keeper would struggle in our team with what he has in front of him. For me, he's gone from about a 4 out of 10 to 5.5 out of 10. Which in our squad of players puts him in the top half sadly

I don't think any player in our squad has been good this season. Onana has been better, but fairly average still.

For me Bruno has been the best player this season, but I would give him about 6.5 out of 10. Mainoo, Garnacho, maybe Dalot also at 6. But no-one has been pulling up any trees.

I accept Mainoo made an amazing start, but too much has been expected of him and I think his form has been a bit up and down since that honeymoon period - that's more on the rest of the squad generally rather than on him
