The issue is not what we paid for players, it’s their current amortised book value

posted on 7/7/24

I know that. My point is, if we can sell off those 5 and maybe a few others, then we will be in a position to buy a couple of quality players. And that's not even taking into consideration the possible sale of RAN or Neto.

I guess it comes down to expectations
If we accept our role as a stepping stone for young talent coming here and using us a shop window it can be a lucrative market but the risk is selling too many assets and not having enough quality to keep us up...in theory we could buy two centre halves with the money from Max. Maybe less individual quality but an overall stronger squad

Don’t see us being relegation contenders even with a poor window Tino, but there’s certainly a balance to get right between selling and buying over the next couple of months. We’re in the dark regarding who will end up leaving. And as far as transfers in are concerned then Gomes, Lima and Larsen were barely featuring in the rumours until just before they signed so who knows what players are being lined up

I don't think GON will be happy with his career stalling for long, and evidently accepting avoiding relegation year after year as the benchmark for success?

Wolves were close to signing Nico Elvedi from Borussia Moenchengladbach last summer and he is still someone being considered to replace Kilman. A salary deal was already agreed and the release clause is €10m

According to a report from The Athletic, Jarrod Bowen is evidently one of the players seemingly leading the race to become the next West Ham captain.

Jose Sa has evidently moved out of his rental property in Tettenhall and has said his goodbyes to the staff at Molineux.

Pedro Neto is evidently having a precautionary medical at Arsenal today, seemingly in preparation for a bid.

No news yet on RAN, but I'll keep you posted as soon as I hear anything.

According to BBC, West Ham value Jarrod Bowen at £100m. No wonder they paid Wolves £40m for KIlman.

I see Danny Batth is back training with us - free of charge, ex captain. Perfect fit

posted on 8/7/24

Is that right re Batth! Was mainly back up at Norwich last season, debatable whether he can hold down a reglular place in a Championship team now, may have to look lower if he wants regular football.

posted on 8/7/24

Always thought Danny Batth was a reliable centre back at the right level. 33 now I think but still be a good signing on a free for a lower division team. His contract ran down at Norwich last month

Larsen, Gomes and Lima all started their pre season training at Compton today. Good that they’ll get a full pre season.

Latest name being put forward as a Kilman replacement is the QPR centre back Clarke-Salter

Latest name being linked with a move away is Boubacar Traore who is evidently wanted by Lens

Confirmed first team departures at this stage are Sa, Semedo, Neto, RAN, Kilman, Hwang, Traore, Gomes, Chunha. 👍

However, we can remain confident of starting the season with a stronger squad than last year

Confirmed departures not confirmed anywhere, strange concept "evidently"

posted on 8/7/24

Yeah, WO needs to show us his evidence before he starts claiming confirmation.

Wonder how long the players who've been in tournaments will get off before they return for pre season. Semedo and Neto haven't played a lot and Sa not at all in Germany, Gomes has played a fair bit for Brazil but they're out of the Copa now. Probs join up when they're in the States at the end of the month.

Evidently confirmed by me. Sa has already moved out of his rental property in Tettenhall.

I can’t say too much more at this stage. ⬛️🟨⬛️🟨

I’m sure the players that have been involved in the tournaments will be allowed some holiday time regardless of whether they’ve been playing or not. Seems to have been a change in approach to the pre season scheduling presumably with GONs blessing. Always used to be a long list of games during July through to early august, now just a few games and a training camp. Nothing been announced for the fringe Players and u21s to get some warm up games. Presume this must all happen behind closed doors

The famous Banks’s brewery in Wolverhampton is under threat of closure. Banks’s were bought out by Marstons a few years ago but that company are now stopping brewing and just focusing on running pubs. Carlsberg are now the owners of the brewery and haven’t confirmed whether it will stay open. Banks’s beer isn’t held in such high regard as it used to be but the name is still synonymous with Wolverhampton and be sad to see it die

The four countries in the semi finals of the euros were also the 4 joint winners of the 1969 Eurovision Song Contest. Who can forget the Lulu classic ‘Boom bang a Bang

Wolves are travelling to Marbella this week for a training camp. The three new signings will be part of that group but the players that have been involved in international tournaments won’t be joining until they go to USA later in July

posted on 9/7/24

A lot of early talk from training is we are trying a back four again in drills.

Could be just a case of not all personnel present.

A lot of the u21s tend to travel on the pre season tour these days, wolves are sending a development squad to Hednesford for a game on the 23rd.
