Regardless of how people think Erik has done in his two years, I just can’t get behind get another managerial change.

Jim himself said no manager would succeed without a well defined structure above him. Erik worked wonders last season, at least give him a chance with the new management in place.

They need to get rid of a lot of players before they see a lot of change on the pitch

----------------------------------------------------------------------
ETH bought most of the shiet you see on the field
----------------------------------------------------------------------

AWB, Lindelof, Maguire, Eriksen, VDB, Sancho, Martial.

The majority that need to go, aren't ETH signings.

Which is a club/structural error. The coach shouldn't be picking the players (or having the lions say). We signed ETH to coach the team on the basis of his excellent work at Ajax.

We didn't sign him to be head of recruitment, chief scout or transfer negotiator.

If the club actually had a functioning football recruitment department with a clear strategy on the types of player it was looking to recruitment, we wouldn't have been reliant on ETH's recommendations or experience and we wouldn't have been buying the likes of Antony in the first place.

There has to be some temptation by INEOS to see if they can get the best out of a talented coach by de-burdening him of all of the extracurricular duties he's not qualified to perform and shouldn't have been having a big say in to begin with.

Personally I'm apathetic with regards to ETH's position, but I'd not be at all surprised if INEOS stuck with ETH for now.

Will be interesting to see if we go for De Zerbi. It will be hilarious watching us try and play his style of football with a radical overhaul of the squad.

I think it will be difficult to get fans onside because most lack patience. But it could spell a big change from the top if they want to appoint a manager like that and back him, as he’s an idealist that is uncompromising on his football principles.

Not buying this at all, think he will still be there at the start of next season personally.

I do think getting a coach that is idealistic could be a good thing for rebuilding the squad. We’ve become so accustomed to having the become pragmatic with how we play and build squads, having an idealist in charge of the team could change that.

True, I actually enjoy our games because they’re so open, even if it means we keep conceding.

According to the person I replied to "Eth worked wonders last year" - so are we saying his recruitment decisions were spot on at that moment in time, e.g. last season?

But this season, he absolutely fecking fecked it all up monumentally because he's hopelessly underqualified?

See my point?
